I'm watching the HBO special John Adams tonight. I'll probably finish it tommorow. A great! movie and one every American (especially children) should see.
Off to get a pizza during intermission!

I will watch it if they release it on DVD. My kids should watch it too; they might be related to him. They're related to his second cousin Samuel Adams. Figures my son would be related to someone associated with beer. LOL

Johns cousin Sam plays a significant part in the formation of our nation and is represented in the film. A film of this quality gets me going. My 5th great grandfather was a member of Marblehead, Mass's Glovers Regiment and were Gen. Washingtons personal guards in Cambroge. He also was in Gen. Washingtons boat as a oarsman and soldier when crossing the Delaware River at Trenton.
I have his Charleville musket over my fireplace and the spice chest from his shop on the wall.

The John Adams HBO miniseries was magnificent!  I watched it on HBO when it first aired in 2008.  It won all sorts of awards.  I know you're enjoying it, Dave.

It was released on DVD, Kelley.

Both of you have great patriotic family roots!

Both of you have great patriotic family roots!

I can't lay claim to that myself; the kids are related to Samuel Adams on the other side of the family. But there was a relative in my maternal grandmother's  family who thought she might be able to prove eligibility for the DAR. She never finished her research and somehow my mom ended up with the letters and documents she collected. They are somewhere in my attic. Maybe some day I'll see if I can continue with it.

That would be a worthy endevour. I think a DAR certificate would make an excellant Christmas or birthday gift when the time is right. My wife and her family are descended from Gen. John Stark and she has the certificate somewhere. It's very interesting.

Tonight was Dream House. It was ok/good. Kind of reminded me of Shutter Island a little bit!

Did you like the ending to True Grit? I liked the movie but thought the ending was weak.

Mister Roberts - firecracker

Henry Fonda, James Cagney, William Powell, and Jack Lemmon.  What a great cast!

I was extremely lazy on the weekend and watched 3 movies!

Employee of the Month - funny and silly. A good laugh especially if you know whats it like to work at a supermarket
The Invention of Lying - Really good British humour!
Blood Diamond - Good, but too much violence for my liking. Kind of hits home too.....

Took my daughters to see Sinister last night. (It's so hard to find a scary movie that isn't full of gore and nudity!) It was good but a tad too dark for my taste.

Just got back from Paranormal Activity 4 with my girls. It was pretty good, especially for a fourth installment.

Watched The Soloist last night. Could have been better. Robert Downey Jr. has taken the obsesive compulsive, jeff Goldblum style run on sentence to a new hight ! In this movie mentally ill Jamie Foxx spoke in obsessive compulsive Jeff Goldblum stlye run on sentences at the the same time as RDJr. Put me to sleep twice! Good movie but wrong actors.
