New York, December 8, 1980
« on: June 12, 2013, 01:33:03 PM »

Hi there!

I am in the process of planning a photo book, and i thought i'll check with you lovely people here for help.
The working title is "Elsewhere in New York, December 8 1980". The plan is to collect pictures taken in and around New York on this specific date, by ordinary people. This is pretty hard work, cause it's been so long, and most people don't put a date on there photos. But some may remember, "Oh, i was at that party early in the evening, took some photos of my friends". That's the kind of stuff i'm looking for!

How would you proceed with this? The best way to get in touch with people and so on.
I really like this idea for a book and it's been in my mind for a long time. This date is so tangled up with John, MDC, The Dakota. I want to create the whole picture, it's some kind of magic. You can look at these ordinary pictures and just drift away. We are just hours away from a huge tragedy, and no one knows it.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Do you live in or near NYC? I would post a lot of notices in places. Also, of course, online: any NYC-centric blogs, craigslist, etc.

That's all I got.
