Does anybody here have some lyrics that they'd like to share with us? I think we used to have an old thread like this but I don't know what happened to it. Anyway, here's a silly little song I wrote today.

Me and My Shadow

I'm in love with my reflection
Because it gives me so much affection
She's the only person I ever go near
I'm in love with myself
Does that make me weird

(Bridge)
I've got somebody who'll always love me
Me myself and I are always meant to be
My alter ego is wonderfully free

(Chorus)
Me and my shadow
Go everywhere together
Me and my shadow
We're meant to be
Two perfect lovers
Hidden under cover
The only person I could ever love is me!

The girl in the mirror
Sees things so much clearer
She's practically perfect in every way
Oh, how I love her
I wish she would stay

(Bridge)

(Chorus)

She's alluring and she's mysterious
Sometimes she can be a bit curious
My baby's the only one I need
Did I mention that person
Happens to be l'il old me?

(Bridge)

(Chorus)

This is part of my band's political album. I'm quite proud of it:

The Republican Sequence:Democracy Of Hypocrisy/The New Revoultion

Goodby Bush,
Goodbye Kerry,
Goodbye,

Goodbye Edwards,
Goodbye Cheney,
Goodbye,

You can pat yourselves on the back,
And continue to self justify,
And crusade to take away our civil rights,
Proceed to keep us scurrying in your maz like rats,

Is this what man died for in '76?
To trade blood for oil?
Vindictive vendettas lead us into their soil,
Hussein was bad,
No one's denying that,
but if we can march in and war wherever we please because there wrong,
Then I ask you one thing...
Why not Korea?

Oh say, can you see...
Past all the obesity?
The bombs being dropped backed by ripe hypocrisy?
And the legions of skinheads,
And the sosiopaths?
Potatoes must be freedom,
Not French,
Not mashed,
Oh say, can you see charred and tattered remnants of a revolution long forgotten of past?
Oh see how the WalMart logo strains,
To keep us from what could be away from their domain,
Their cage of hate!

Do you think your better than me because you can write out a detention?
Or is it just because you want some attention?
Or do you want us to be your clone?
Exceptions to every rule but by and large...
You mold us into something that can function and not make assumptions.

You censor our art,
You dillude and bleep and dub,
Well, I have had enough of your little games,
No more tampering with me,
I don't care if I get no air play,
So stand and salute your stars and stripes and swastikas and sickles and hammers,
because I would rather salute the Parental Advisory Sticker if the flag means death for deniro,

We were once something proud,
built on revolt,
Yet now we are determined to be held in the hands of pocket filling tyrants,
Spreading their package of assorted vaguitys and lies, whipping us into shape and throwing us back to the sty...

HANDS UP!
On your head!
It won't help anything but it helps me take your will away and open you to vulnerability!

They sent Johnny Boy off to the slaughterhouse,
He walked right in on that one,
I still can't decide whether it was righteous sacrifice,
Or self-righteous suicide...

Genre: Progressive Rock

FLOYDIAN Written by: Anderson Councell

FLOYDIAN PART 1--THE FLOYDIAN ANTHEM
the music lifts my minds shackles,
the music lifts up my sagging frown,
I have been given the crown,
to imagination,
the minds own playstation,
and my fingers tremble,
and I remember my work,
fading quickly now, that smirk,

and I am reminded that everything under
the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march,
and the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design,

'cause theres no queers in the theater
tonight,
don't mind the coons, or jews, or bongers,
so the show will go on,
as this work is done,
but don't worry you,
it'll be done soon,
and when at last it is,
we'll take a break,
no need to start another one,
at least not right now,
we can sit down,
the pin-prick may not be so little,
but its over now,
forget tonight,
we got ourselves a might,
so why don't we all just agree,
we're still learning how to fly,
you and me,
but we'd better learn fast,
the dogs are always barking,
guarding the machine,
we could never stop those fiends,
so we'd better move,
we don't have much more time,
so I'd better end this rhyme,

and I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause it was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march
and the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design,

Goodbye Syd,
goodbye Rog,
the poems may end,
but the legend will live on
and when VH1 does Behind The Music,
at least we'll have Dave,
at least we'll have Nick,
maybe Rick,
so when the tour is done,
and when there's no more,
you'll have joined the pantheon,
you'll be heard on and on,
the final cut will never come,

And I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall!
and the hammers will march,
and the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design,

And as the division bells toll,
the tank is full,
so lets ride,
and for the last time,
that insane stone,
WILL BRIGHTLY GLOW<

And I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
because that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
the hammers will march,
the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design

a protest to sin,
being forgotten is legend's fine,
so if you can cheat age,
and stay great,
and keep from the past,
then I guess you are a mass,
a force to be reckoned with,
and everyone knows,
even a fool,
you never grow old,
in the shadow of The Wall,
during a Momentary Lapse Of Reason,
when the fans Wish You Were Here
when your Obscured By Clouds
when your in the presence of Animals,
holding your own Saucerful Of Secrets,
on The Dark Side Of The Moon

And for the final time,
I am reminded,
that when the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
he didn't quite come out,
the hammers halt,
the diamonds dim,
an empty, empty design.

But lets go back,
lets not face the facts,
lets pretend its still 69,
and your still young,
Syd's still around,
everything'll be just fine,
and when the fans break,
in pompous blasphemy,
and when were recognized as a pain stifled band for all to see,
we'll enter the 1970s,
And dark side'll sell 40,million
AND YOU"LL BE RICH AND PROSPER<
BUT YOU"LL CREATE YOUR OWN HELL<
BUT WITH FAME BRINGS DISASTER<
AND AFTER SOME TIME COMES ALIENATION<
AND YOU"VE LOST THE MINDS PLAYSTATION<
AND SO YOU MAKE A SWAN SONG<
LONGEST YOU"VE DONE<
AND YOU GET A BACKWARDS MIND TO TELL<
AND HE MAKES SOME PICTURES<
PRETTY IN THEIR OWN WAY<
BUT ONLY THE OTHER BACKWARDS MINDS CAN SEE<
AND IF THEY MISINTERPRATE IT LIKE IDIOTIC SOWS<
IGNORE THEM<
KEEP THE BARE BROWS<
AND GET THAT BLOKE<
FROM THE !@:00 train,
the film was made for backwards minds to rejoyce,
not your fault if morons feel the pain,
backwards minds see what it meant, really.
And honor daddy,
and do it again,
a whole album just for him,
butcha didn't get much profit,
and the others got kinda testy,
and you left the band,
and you betrayed them,
never to be heard from again,
Lets ges,
and make a few more,
still better than most other albums,
but only a shadow of Wish You Were Here,
on the dark side of the moon,
You've nothing to fear.

And I am reminded,
that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march,
[EINZ! ZWEI! ZWEI! EINZ!]
and the diamonds will shine
[they crazy]
if only be intricate design,
yeah, its a DESIGN>
{OOOH____]

Check your pulse!
here that delicate sound?

And I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the fiddler fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march
and the diamonds will shine
if only by intricate design

But there to far from me,
I'll never get to see,
Unless luck loves me,
but i'll always have the albums,
and the inspiration,
you helped jumpstart my minds playstation,
gave me a crash course education,
and on the day the rock hall-of-fame looks to me for number one...

you know what I'll say
you know what I'll say...

And in my mind,
the hammers will never stop marching,
the crazy diamond will always shine,
my backwards mind has made its own intricate design,

Combating a wave of rushing scum,
deadly rock,
You didn't need to shock,
you just needed to be you,
You didn't need darkness
or misery,
or satanism,
or cynism,
Uplifting generations,
and when there's Manson and Zombie,
your still higher above,
and you can make others dreams,
when others can only crush,
and speak of love,
You can make others feel good,
and strong,
and light,
you didn't have to fight,
I feel in the flesh,
I can feel the rush,
In the flesh?
Of course,
In the flesh,
being me,
thats something you helped me see,
In the flesh,
being me,
thats how you taught me to be free,

And I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march,
and the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design,

You guided me through my youth,
protected me when I walked through the machine,
When I was young I saw Emily play,
Heed what I say,
The trial is on the way,
Here's your post card,
See you soon,
on The Dark Side Of The Moon,

And I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march,
and the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design,

You'll always be the best MegaDeath
and yet you'll never be MegaDeth,
completely diffrent sounds,
how'd you think of that,
your a completely diffrent band,
a completely diffrent sound,
Syd had good judgment,
when a Rock-N-Blues band,
with a completely new sound,
and a song over 40 min comes to town,
and the UFO and Middle Earth
pick 'em up,
don't worry,
You get bigger things,
groupies and properties
histories and million sellers,
sure,
whats Ummagumma, anyway?
Does it matter either way?
You just gotta feel,
ya don't gotta know it,
and besides my friends,
your Meddle not metal,
nearly 30 years to go around,
generations The Beatles couldn't keep,
generations KISS couldn't reach,
generations Nervana was to cold for.
But you...
You...
You...
Your still here...

And I am reminded that everything under the sun was in tune,
but the piper at the gates of dawn fell,
lets wish him well,
'cause that was a might fall,
lets hope he don't land on the wall,
and the hammers will march,
and the diamonds will shine,
if only by intricate design,

Thank Anderson,
thank Councill,

and the hammers will march
[thank Anderson]
and the diamonds will shine,
[thank Councill]
if only by...
Intricate...
[Design...]

Roger was seduced by the dark side,
well we were on the Dark Side Of The Moon,
Syd deteriated,
we'll miss you,
Roger,
we'll dismiss you,
and why shouldn't we,
you used the name for your own agenda,
fell back on Davey and Nick,
and brought the group into a war
glad ya lost,
do ya ever feel bad,
do ya ever feel sad,
what would Syd say if he knew what you've become,
What would Syd say if he wasn't comfortably numb?

FLOYDIAN PART II---ROGER:
BOY,
IGNORE THE BRIGHTS,
THE BURNING SENSATION OF THOSE LIGHTS,
BOY,
IGNORE THE SCREAMS,
GIVE 'EM WHAT THEY WANT,
THEY'VE SEEN YOU IN THEIR DREAMS,
BOY,
IGNORE THE FANS,
YOUR ABOUT TO TRAVEL DESTINY'S SANDS,

[GUITAR SOLO]

YOU PLAYED A MEAN GUITAR,
BUT DIDN'T GET FAR,
YOU DREAMED OF FAME, FORTUNE, A NEW CAR,

[GUITAR SOLO]

NOW YOU'VE GOT EXCESS,
SOLD OUT,
USED TO BE ABOUT,
LYRICS,
ALL YOU WANT NOW IS MONEY AT A GIG,
AND GROUPIE SEX
NOW YOUR A BIG STAR,
YOU'VE GONE FAR,
YOU GOT DRUGS,
YOU GOT BOOZE,
YOU GOT GIRLS,
YOU GOT GUYS WHO'LL BE YOUR STOOGE,
YOU HAVE THE POWER,
TO DO WHAT YOU WANT,
YOU'VE LEARNED THAT EVEN LOVE,
CAN BE BOUGHT

YOU FOUGHT,
AND YOU'VE RISEN TO THE TOP,
AND NOW YOUR THE BIGGEST GUN,
ON VH1,
AND YOUR MILLION'S TO SEE,
ON MTV,
YOUR THE CREAM OF THE CROP,
IF YOU WANTED YOU COULD INVEST IN STOCK,
YOUR THE JERRY SEINFIELD OF ROCK,
YOU COULD HIRE A HITMAN IF YOU WANTED,
JUST TO HEAR HIS GUN COCK

[GUITAR SOLO]

AND SO YOUR NUMBER ONE,
YOU'VE WON,
YOU'VE STUNNED,
BUT NOW YOUR GRAY,
ON A SUNNY DAY,
BUT NOW YOUR ALL DONE,

[GUIOYDIAN PART III--DAVIE:
PLAY THAT GUITAR,
FOLLOW THAT STAR,
DRONING, PAIN-RIDDEN VOICE,
EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE,
JUST GIVE IT TIME,
THE FANS ALL LOOK UP TO YOU,
TELL ME,
WHAT SHOULD I DO,
THE ATOM'S DANCE ACROSS THE STRINGS,
YOU GIVE US SOME RICH HEARING THINGS,
A NATURAL BORN LEADER,
FULL OF HEART,
ANGST AND HAPPY FEAR,
AND IF THE WATERS DRY AND DISAPPEAR,
AND WHEN THE WALL CRASHES DOWN,
AND IF NICK TUNES IT UP,
JUST HUMOUR THE FANS AND PLAY,
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY WANT,
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY WISH,
GIVE 'EM A SHOW THEY WON'T SOON FORGET,
AND MAKE PLENTY O' DOUGH,
BUT THAT A'INT IT,
YOU DO IT,
FOR THE MUSIC,

FLOYDIAN PART IV--NICK:
PLAY THE TAPE,
BEAT THE DRUMS,
WRITE THE SONGS,
ON AND ON,
YOU'VE BEEN TURNED INSIDE OUT,
WHY NOT JUST STAND UP AND SHOUT,

[DRUM SOLO]

YOU'VE BEEN THEIR SINCE SYD,
YOU WERE THERE AFTER ROGER,
YOU ADDED THE MYSTIQUE,
YOU GAVE US THE GREAT SOUND,
YOU BROUGHT US THE DARK SIDE,
SOMEDAY WE'LL ALL SEE YOU,
IN THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY,
YOU WERE IN THE SKY HIGH,
YOU GAVE US GREAT PERCUSSION,
YOU BROUGHT THE BAND INTO DISCUSSION,
AND SHOWED THEM THE REPRECUSSIONS,

[DRUM SOLO]

[SOUND OF LAUGHTER]
[GUITAR SOLO]

FLOYDAIN PART V--SYD, OR HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED?:

["ARNOLD LAYNE" PLAYS SOFTLY IN THE BACKGROUND LIGHTLY]

["WISH YOU WERE HERE" PLAYS SLIGHTLY LOUDER BUT STILL SOFTLY]

[GUITAR]

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED,
HOW IT WOULD BE LIKE,
IF YOU STAYED AROUND,
WELL,
I'M SURE YOU DON'T,
AND WHY WOULD YOU,
EVEN IF YOU COULD?

[DRUM UPBEAT]

HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED?

[SAXAPHONE LEADS]

[KEYBOARD]

HAVE YOU EVER SCREAMED? [SCREAM CARRIES ON]

[CARRIES ON ENTIRE SONG WITH "ARNOLD LAYNE" AND "WISH YOU WERE HERE"]

[BACKING GUITAR]

[LEAD GUITAR]

[ALL INSTRUMENTS STOP ABRUPTLY, SILENT EXCEPT THE SCREAM, "ARNOLD LAYNE" AND "WISH YOU WERE HERE"]

[CLASSICAL VIOLIN STARTS]

[CLASSICAL TRUMPET STARTS]

[TONED DOWN]
MUSICAL GENIUS...[ECHO]
CRACKED BALLAD,[ECHO]
HAIR GEL AND HELL,[ECHO]
LSD ADDICTION...[ECHO]
POETIC AFFLICTION... [ECHO]
LOVE... [ECHO]
AND LOSS...[ECHO]
COVERED IN... [ECHO]
GLOSS... [ECHO]

FLOYDIAN PART VI--RICK
[GUITAR]

[DRUMS]

[KEYBOARD]

AND ROUNDING OUT THE CAST,
NOT LEAST BUT MOST CERTAINLY LAST,
A BLAST[ECHO]
FROM THE PAST[ECHO]
DON'T MOAN AND SIT AROUND,
BANG THAT PIANO DOWN!
SCREAM AWAY THOSE WORDS AWAY,
YOU'LL DO GREAT!

[KEYBOARD SOLO]

GO STRAIGHT TO THE TOP WITH THEIR HELP,
BUT THEN AGAIN,
WHERE WOULD THEY BE,
WITHOUT ONE TO HIT THE KEYS?

[KEYBOARD]

HELP THEM TRAVEL THE MORE ELEGANT SEAS,
HELP THRTAINLY IS RIGHT.

[TONED DOWN]
NO, NO, NO...

FLOYDIAN PART VII--ARNOLD AND EMILY:
AND ARNOLD AND EMILY WILL DANCE,
AROUND THE CLOCK THEY'LL NEVER STOP,
JUST TAKE MY WORD,
DON'T WORRY THEY'LL GET ALONG FINE,
I DON'T MIND,
THEY ARE OF COURSE,
THE LAST SIGN,
TO ILLUMINATE[ECHO]
FROM SYD'S MIND,
AND WELL SYD MIGHT BE DEAD,
ROGER BARRETT IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE,
SO, YOU CRAZY DIAMOND,
SHINE...

FLOYDIAN PART VIII--THE FLOYDIAN ANTHEM[REPRISE]:
AND THE HAMMERS WILL MARCH,
AND THE DIAMONDS WILL SHINE,

[CORE BEAT FROM "ROGER"{BASS}, "DAVEY"{GUITAR}, "NICK"{PERCUSSION}, "SYD, OR HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED"{CLASSICAL VIOLIN AND R&B SAXAPHONE}, AND "RICK"{KEYBOARD}

FLOYDIAN VERSE 9(I think, I lost count somewhere)--HORSE:

YOU GIVE,
AND YOU GIVE,
AND YOU PULL,
AND YOU PULL,
AND YOU FIGHT,
AND YOU FIGHT,
WITH ALL OF YOUR MIGHT,
AND YOU TRUST LOYALY
(BLINDLY)
AND YOU WORK RESTLESSLY,
(IGNORANT)
AND WHEN YOU ARE COLD AND BROKEN DOWN,
PROMISED A REST OR TWO,
A LIFE OF EASE,
REWARDS FOR YOUR SACRIFICE,
YOU FALL THROUGH THE ICE,
FEASTED UPON BY THE MICE,
ROTTING AND BREEDING LICE,
WHAT TO DO?
YOUR "FRIENDS" KNOW WHAT TO DO...
CALL IN ELMER'S...
CALL IN THE WAGON...
TAKE A HEFTY CHUNK OF CHANGE...
AND MAKE YOU INTO GLUE...
MAKE YOU INTO GLUE...
MAKE YOU INTO GLUE...
MAKE YOU INTO GLUE...
MAKE YOU INTO GLUE...
[fade out into echoes of that same line]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PART 10: THE SPOTLIGHT, or SYD:

SELL-OUT,
WELL OUT OF TIME,
FELL OUT OF THE SPOTLIGHT,
OR WERE YOU PUSHED,
DID YOU CHOOSE NOT TO SPEAK,
OR WERE YOU SHUSHED,
DID THE PRESSURE GET TO YOU?
WHAT DID YOU DECIDE TO DO?
WHY NOT COME BACK FOR SOME MORE?

DOOR TO DOOR,
THROUGH THE FLOOR,

AT YOUR CORE YOU WERE JUST A MAN,
SHARING YOUR FABLES OF LUCIFER SAM,
FOR A WORLD TO LAUGH AND CHEER,
BUT WHY DID SOME JEER,
YOU CAN'T REALLY BLAME THEM AFTER 'DO YOU GET IT?',
BUT THATS NOT WHY THEY DON'T CALL OR VISIT,

DOOR TO DOOR,
THROUGH THE FLOOR,

AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT YOU MEANT,
WHEN YOU ASKED THAT QUESTION...

FLOYDIAN PART 11: (THE PRICE OF) THE HARD ROCK CAFE'

Actually, if you look at my rock opera thread you will notice those are aberrations and that mainly my songs are much shorter than the average one. Floydian was several poems sharing one concept, and The Republican Sequence was a sort of mini-opera, like Bohemian Rhapsody or A Quick One Well He's Away.

And even if you didn't like them I'd let it slide because of your signature...  ;)

Quote from: Mairi
Does anybody here have some lyrics that they'd like to share with us? I think we used to have an old thread like this but I don't know what happened to it. Anyway, here's a silly little song I wrote today.

Me and My Shadow

I'm in love with my reflection
Because it gives me so much affection
She's the only person I ever go near
I'm in love with myself
Does that make me weird

(Bridge)
I've got somebody who'll always love me
Me myself and I are always meant to be
My alter ego is wonderfully free

(Chorus)
Me and my shadow
Go everywhere together
Me and my shadow
We're meant to be
Two perfect lovers
Hidden under cover
The only person I could ever love is me!

The girl in the mirror
Sees things so much clearer
She's practically perfect in every way
Oh, how I love her
I wish she would stay

(Bridge)

(Chorus)

She's alluring and she's mysterious
Sometimes she can be a bit curious
My baby's the only one I need
Did I mention that person
Happens to be l'il old me?

(Bridge)

(Chorus)

This was beautiful. Personal, but not alienating, all can relate to it, feel the emotions in it, and come away with their own meaning of it. I wish I could do that but, sadly, usually I'm to obsessed with my own opinions and the message as I perceive it.

Some other stuff from my political album:

They don't understand this noise we make,
They haven't since 55,
They think were all just stupid creatures,
They need someplace to hide,
They hide behind their yesteryear that never existed,
They hide from their insecurities and fears and have insisted,
They are fine,
They are open-minded,
They aren't sociopaths,
They aren't hypocrites,
They don't support censorship
And all of that bullsh*t
If they are the heros,
Then we are the bad men

THEY part 2

If they are heroes,
Then we are bad men,
So lets give 'em hell,
and go straight down,
Apparently,
You and me,
And everyone who doesn't agree with Them in this "free country"
Is goin' first class.
So lets be proud,
They can kiss our collective ass,
Get mad,
Get "bad",
Stomp grounds and rip down flags,
Let them know people have the right to be f**s,
The cross is a belief,
Not a code of government,
But They want us to live under it,
So stomp on grounds and fight the fight,
My fellow bad boys and girls,
Lets bang our heads,
Lets flip our fingers,
Lets bring this monster,
This mother down,
Lets not let them win it,
Lets not give into their ********,
Lets rewrite history,
And rewrite the dictionary,
Lets rewrite the definition of "hero",
Lets rewrite the definition of "bad man"

KING GEORGE II

A prince was in a stable,
Feedin' the ponies,
And his daddy looked and said,
"Boy your a man now,
Have been for some time,
My time is done,"
Said the king to his son,
"But your time is hear,
Your time is coming and you shall be,
The great king ruling all the land,
You'll be even more powerful than I,
Wisconsin to Hawaii will be yours,
You'll get money and food and whores,"
Said the prince to the king,
"But dad--"
"Shush son, shush,
Your a Bush,
Now listen here son,
A king who was insane,
His name is Hussein,
Tried to kill me,
So when you are king,
You must invade his kingdom and conquer,"
And then the good king smiled madly,
And he said,
"Do it for your daddy",
And the prince smiled madly also,
And then he thought about his plan,
This young and mighty prince,
And his face became dumbfounded,
And he's looked that way ever since

I have some pseudo-political lyrics, too.

Song For the Children

Through innocent eyes
And auburn skies
They watch as their world is crumbling
There's no time for tears
So they just quelch their fears
And watch as the sky is tumbling

(Chorus)
I'm singing a song for the children
Because they can't raise their voices
I'm singing a song for the children
Because they don't make the choices
I'm singing a song for the children
So that someday they'll be free
I'm singing a song for the children
Won't you sing with me?

So many lives shot down
So many bodies never found
All of the futures were left undecided
Like a flower ground in the dust
We never do the things we must
The children watched as the soldiers fighted

(Chorus)

I tell you it was a waste
When I see a crying face
I'll pick up the pieces and warm their souls
Like a mother
Or a brother
Who's come in from the cold

Some grammatical mistakes in there, but it's all poetical liscense.

The first verse reminds me of The Final Cut. Was that intentional.

I Was A Teenage Preppie Lover

This is a poem I found last year when I liked this preppie girl. Now I'm not sure what I saw in her, besides a nice ass. I mean, she was nice, but she's just so not me that I don't know if I could talk with her every day. There are other things I could do with her several times within an hour, just not talking. Anyways, the poem is a fair bit wussier than my other work but its kinda cool. Very emo. I had actually forgotten all about this until earlier this week:

Flailing in and out of place and time,
Lost in the ocean that is your eyes I'm,
Trying to breathe,
And as you read this poem,
I feel I will suffocate,
Fall and stall,
To answer you when you finish it,
Oh sh*t,
I can't even get through it,
Stumbling,
Bumbling,
Fumbling around,
When you enter the room,
I sink in my chair,
Its so unfair,
I'll never get a chance with you,
Which may be a good thing 'cause I know how I am,
And I may not treat you fair,
And how dare me make a move on you when your with Ryan and Ryan and I walked down the halls and hangout,
Gimmee a second to stop,
Take it all in,
My pain is a sin,
Gimmee a second to stop,
And sigh,
Just sigh,
Forget it,
it wouldn't work out,
Bye bye,
Bye bye

Aw, that's kinda cute. I have some emo teenage love crap stuff, too. I got rid of a lot of it, though, as most of it centered around my crush on Paul. ::)

Cute. Heh heh. Thats nice. Isn't that what every 14-year old boy wants to hear about themselves? Yeah, I think its a lot more pathetic than it is cute. However, I've made it quite clear to my look-at-me-I've-got-a-nice-haircut-and-don't-have-CP-jock-friends that the phallic conontations of a guitar to all of their squealing, 13-year old girlfriends is like kryptonite.

I know you don't care about my personal life, I just need to remind myself that as ugly, dorky, and weak (as mentioned, I have CP), I am, I have something on the jocks that all the little girls adore: My fenderbender.

A FINAL LETTER TO MINE LOVE

Darkness holds the heart in shadowed realm,
Death not a spector as much as love,
Feeling I'm in hell,
I'd keep going on,
With this song,
And could take up all day,
But aside,
From the first three lines,
There's really not much more to say

Not all chicks go for jocks, I certainly don't. If I may quote from The Seven Year Itch:

Quote
How do you know what every pretty girl wants? You think that every pretty girl is a dope. You think that a girl goes to a party and there's some guy- a great big hunk in a fancy striped vest, strutting around like a tiger- giving you that "I'm so handsome, you can't resist me" look- and from this she is supposed to fall flat on her face. Well, she doesn't fall flat on her face. But there's another guy in the room-maybe way over in the corner-maybe he's kind of nervous and shy and perspiring a little. First you look past him, but then you sense that he's gentle and kind and worried, that he'll be tender with you and nice and sweet- and that's what's really exciting!

And just when you thought you'd been cheered up...

EMO-NESS! :D

Show Me The WAy

I've walking for an hour
With my heart in my hands
And nobody seems to know me
I've been waiting for somebody
To help me understand
But nobody wants to show me
I've worn out my excuses
I've got no place to go
Is it because of something about me?
I'm looking for an answer
I'm waiting for a call
But there's only empty faces around me

(Chorus)
I'm just looking for a
Place to be
Won't somebody take me away
I'm just looking for a
Way to love
Won't somebody show me the way

I waited for a thoughtful soul
To ask me anything
But they didn't seem to notice my grief
So I listened to my own heartbeat
To hear a sort of rythmn
I was the only lonely soul on the street
I could stop another stranger
Just to ask them the time
But what's the point of even knowing
If it's 10 or 12 o clock
Just another seed for sowing

(Chorus)

I know I've got a lot of issues
That I have to work on
It'd be easier if somebody would hold me
It's getting to late out
For me to be walking around
I only wish somebody had told me

I got home, threw my jacket on the floor
Listened to some music,
Just like I always did before
I took some pills from off the shelf
And that is how I killed myself

My Homage to Syd Barrett

WHEE!

Floating through the sounds of clouds,
There the platglass sea,
Is awaiting me,
Riding on a bumblebee,
WHEE!
The sky of green,
The giant vine,
All that I sea in awe of,
It is mine,
Unable to grasp the,
Unlimited possibilities,
Out the minds doors,
The flying boars,
Go so high,
In this machine,
I hold the key,
To...
Say...
WHEE!
Nothing is wrong with me,
The clouds are fish in this crystal sea,
The key,
Is you and me,
That is all we need,
WHEE!
Floating away from this world,
This savage little planet that thinks its huge,
We'll be seeing all,
In our hot air balloon,
Very, very soon,
Eating cheese off the moon,
The stars twinkle oh, so blue
Taking off at full speed,
Dangerous reactions of heat,
The thrill of the rush,
The clouds flush,
Don't gush,
We are bearly out of the sky,
WHEE!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sky was once blue,
In the childhood I knew,
Before there was a gravitational pull,
Before myths of kingdoms filled the sky,
I saw an endless supply,
Of fantasies,
And wild dreams,
And now the sky,
Is only a place very, very high,
But perhaps,
Shall someone grant me wings,
I can sing once more and the sky will be blue again,
All I once knew again,
People call me a fool again,
Think I'm just a hooligan,
Back in school again,
We learn of all the technical bits and peices of the sky,
We don't see,
The beauty,

This is about how when I was younger I always knew someday I would fly. Once I got in school and learned all these facts the possibility died but the dream still dimly glows.

If man of wing,
Then I could sing,
So happy and so high,
Passing stars and clouds and moons right by,
If man of wing,
There'd be no thing,
As a fear of death,
For we had seen heaven,
And couldn't wait there yet,
If man of wing,
Dare to dream,
For it will never be so

Goodnight my friends,
Goodnight once again,
I like this board,
But right now I am bored,
And my most recent convo seems to have died,
But thats okay,
'Cause I'm growing tired,
Caffiene addiction makes it hard to get wired,
Will chat for a while on PinkFloydOnline,
Then read some of my book on Sam Giancana,
Then maybe eat a banana,
Time to refuel from todays sins,
By falling asleep well watching The Simpsons

Goodnight.

A Thousand Yard Stare

V1.
Fortune runs through kaleidoscope fountains,

Your spirit hides, In a looking glass stream,

Man will rise to cut down any mountain,

But, to be pure, you first must be clean.
