Hombre, no JL/Plastic Ono Band?

I knew that question would come. I used to praise Plastic Ono Band, but I got tired of its sadness and deleted it from my map. Probably the fact that I'm going to be a father soon changed my mind.

1. 'Beatles For Sale'
(Can't believe this, and 'I Feel Fine'/'She's A Woman', is 50 years old. Compare them to their equivalents in 2014.....and weep.)

2. 'A Hard Day's Night'
(Easily the best film I've seen this year, didn't remember it to be THAT brilliant. At the showing I went to the audience clapped at the end.)

3. 'With The Beatles'
4. 'Please Please Me'
5. 'Past Masters Vol. 1'

6. 'McCartney' (Paul)
7. 'Live At The BBC Vol. 1'
8. 'Let It Be'
9. 'Live At The BBC Vol. 2'
10. 'Wonderwall Music' (George)

11. 'Electronic Sound' (George)
12. 'The White Album'
13. 'Revolver'
14. 'Past Masters Vol. 2'
15. 'Abbey Road'

16. 'Help!' (this'll move up a few spots on 6th August)
17. 'Rubber Soul' (ditto, on 3rd December)
18. 'Sgt. Pepper's'
19. 'Yellow Submarine'
20. 'The Beatles' First' (Polydor)

I guess I prefer the rough 'n' ready version of the group to the studio version.
If an enterprising record label (Apple? only joking!) were to clean up the 'Live at the Star Club' record for a CD release, if they haven't already, I'd probably have that in the Top Ten as well.

A quick addendum to my comment on 'I Feel Fine'.
The U.K. Christmas No. 1 of 2014 apparently shifted, via however it is manufactured these days (does anybody actually know?), 214,000 copies, and that with the full backing of a three month prime-time T.V. series behind it!
The entry at No. 5 is a guy in really bad clothes shouting at a football match.
Oh dear.

So did we, almost 11 years ago. A delivery 23 hours later and he would have been born at February 29th.

For me, even the best post-Beatles/solo efforts could not hope to penetrate a united Beatles top twenty. Mine goes like this (at the moment):

1. The Beatles 1962-1966
2. Rubber Soul
3. The Beatles 1967-1970
4. A Hard Day's Night
5. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
6. Abbey Road
7. Revolver
8. Magical Mystery Tour
10. Love
11. Yellow Submarine Songtrack
12. Help!
13. Beatles For Sale
14. The Beatles
15. Please Please Me
16. With The Beatles
17. Let It Be
18. The Beatles Live At The BBC
18. Past Masters Volume One
19. Anthology 2
20. Past Masters Volume Two

They're "sort of" in order, but I'm working on the assumption I'm allowed all twenty - I probably prefer Past Masters Volume Two over Volume One in isolation, but with the blue '67-'70 on my list the only real attraction of PM2 is "Rain", whereas PM1 has quite a bit of stuff not on the red '62-'66, if you see what I mean.

Anyway, I thought I'd separately do a post-Beatles twenty as well:

1. Lennon Legend (John)
2. All The Best! (Paul)
3. The Best Of George Harrison (George)
4. Double Fantasy (John)
5. Imagine (John)
6. Tug Of War (Paul)
7. Walls And Bridges (John)
8. Band On The Run (Paul)
9. Ram (Paul)
10.John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (John)
11.Cloud Nine (George)
12.Photograph - The Very Best Of Ringo (Ringo)
13.NEW (Paul)
14.Thirty Three & 1/3 (George)
15.Flowers In The Dirt (Paul)
16.Flaming Pie (Paul)
17.Memory Almost Full (Paul)
18.London Town (Paul)
19.Liverpool 8 (Ringo)
20.Off The Ground (Paul)

Again, difficult for me to sequence them without being conscious of what else is on the list.... I'd probably rather listen to "Shaved Fish" than "Memory Almost Full", but what's the point of "Shaved Fish" when I've already stuck "Lennon Legend" on the list?

Interesting list.  No 'All Things Must Pass'.  Hmmm

That would come top of my list in a "most overrated" solo album poll.

Four or five excellent tracks. Tons of padding.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one Mr.M.  I see you have 33 1/3 listed also.  I think its interesting that if pushed against a wall, I would say that is one of George's most boring albums, BUT i'm a huge fan of 'Extra Texture' and I know that's a boring one as well.  Different tastes in music fascinates me for some reason.  What makes perfect sense to me might not make sense at all.
