Iron Man 3. It was good, but probably the least entertaining out of the trilogy so far. Too much Robert Downey Jr. and not enough Iron Man. Also, being a comic book fanatic, they ruined the Mandarin and he is Iron Mans arch enemy. Shame.

Worth a watch though.

Up In The Air - pretty good film
Friends With Benefits - unexpectedly good and entertaining; your typical romantic comedy but without any true cringe-worthy moments.

Silver Linings Playbook- Bradley Cooper plays a man who has just been released from a mental institution. He's trying to get his life back together after his undiagnosed bipolar disorder lead him to violently attack his unfaithful wife's boyfriend. It's billed as a comedy and it manages to be that without turning the lead character into a stereotype. It wasn't a laugh a minute but it was pretty true to life.

She's sumthin"! I like the shadow work on the piano player and the girl at the end played the daughter in "The Best Years of Our Lives" which we discussed lat year in the best old movie posts. Black and white photography was definatley more artsy than color. I like it!

Yes.  That's Bettye Avery, a starlet and singer in the 1940s.  "Always" was written by Irving Berlin for his wife Ellin.  It was the perfect theme for Pride Of The Yankees and Bettye Avery sang it well.  Frank Sinatra liked singing it too...

That was some beautiful cinematography!

That's Teresa Wright.  She was the perfect choice to play Lou Gehrig's wife Eleanor.  And Gary Cooper was the perfect choice to play Lou Gehrig.

I've always liked that song. Didn't they sometimes use a little snippet of it after the opening of "The Honeymooners"?

Yes they did, Kelley, as opening scene music in some of the older kinescopes.

I'm jumping the gun a little here, but my younger daughter and I are going to see "The Conjuring" tomorrow, and I can't wait!
