I haven't seen a movie in a theater since "Marley and Me" but would definitely go if this happens here!

"Marley and Me" brings back memories! We rented it to watch as a family about 5 years ago, thinking it was a comedy and not realizing what a tearjerker it is. I cried so hard I think I freaked the kids out a little.  ha2ha

Hmmm... That gives me hope... I wish I knew what the future holds.

(And I shall start singing Starship Trooper.....)

Sounds like a very good year for you, Joost; I'm happy for you! Happy 2014 to you and all DM's members.  :)

Thank you and I hope all on DM's have a great 2014 !!

This time last year I was preparing for my big operation and had it all in front of me, now I look back, hear my new heart valve ticking away and thank god I wasn't born 50 years earlier when this wasn't possible.

Before we went in the theater my daughter said, "You're not going to cry are you?" I had read the book so I couldn't make any promises. It's a good thing because I was sobbing by the end. I don't think it mattered though because I'm sure that if anyone was looking at us it was because we had our German Shepherd with us. She was in training for guide dog school then.

I took my daughter to see Mighty Joe Young with Charlise Theron when she was a teenager and when she thought he was dead she started bawling all the way out of the theater at the end. Everyone in the exit line thought it was cute and a sympathetic woman smiled and gave her a hug to comfort her! She looked at me smiling and I just said" You know how those girl and her monkey movies are" and Eliz just cracked up and laugh/cried all the way to the car! We still joke about it today!

Thats a cool story Dave. My mom still cracks up at me for crying during Dr. Doolittle when he threw the seal over the cliff. I was little and thought he was hurting the seal for some reason and here he was just letting the seal go in the ocean. My mom said I just fell apart. Lol.

Right.  When I was an intern, one of my chief residents was from Melbourne.  He called me Bazza when we first met.  "You know in Australia you would be Bazza," he said.  "Baz for short."  He always called me either Bazza or Baz.

A few years ago, I was at a crowded national society meeting.  Suddenly I hear "Hey Bazza!"  I knew who it was immediately and turned around and saw my old "mate."  He was the best chief reident ever and I tried to be like him when I was chief.  We're still good friends today though he's in practice in Florida.

No one called me Bazza again until Kevin came to this Forum.  It's fun to be called that again, and by one I consider a "mate" too!
