I was just looking at a pic of old Paul and it got me thinking about how well or not so well these guys have aged! Anyway, I was hoping for some opinions! Again, if I left out someone just tell me!! Uh by the way, I purposely left Keith Richards out! I was gonna put Elton John on it but isn't he like 10 years younger than the rest of those guys?
-
Paul. He still seems just as young and energetic as people a third his age.....Ringo actually seems that way as well....appearancewise, most of these guys still look great for their age, but Paul is still having kids for cryin' out loud, along with still writing songs constantly.
-
Yeah, but Paul's face has just gotten so strange looking. Very saggy. I think Daltrey looks very similiar to the way he did years ago. Not too many wrinkles or sags. Jagger is the most wrinkled I think! Clapton actually looks pretty good though. Maybe I should have voted for him!
-
Definitely Paul :)
other rock stars that look good now: Steven Tyler, Brian Johnson and Ringo Starr
worst: Axl Rose
-
I didnt know the poll was about looks so I voted Clapton. Oh well, he actually aged pretty well too. I would have voted Paul. I know many think he didnt age well, but for a 63(?) year old guy hes not that ugly. I wish i had a pic of Keith Richards to post as he is an example of not aging well. Makes me wonder what Keith Moon would look like as an old man.
-
Ringo still looks real good too.
-
Clapton has better looks than any of those other folks, age-wise.
-
I'd have to say Eric Clapton here. He just keeps pumping out the great music.
Favourite albums of his:
- Unplugged
- New one, Me & Mr Johnson
-
Oh, I see what the polls about now, as in who of them has aged the best...
Clapton still :)
-
i chose paul, hes very active for his age
-
If we're talking musically I would have to say Paul, tho Eric is almost a peer since Paul is not creating much worthy NEW music, but playing all the old hits.
-
Probably Roger Daltrey. Paul hasent aged well. He looks like that cartoon dog "Droopy".
-
Probably Roger Daltrey. Paul hasent aged well. He looks like that cartoon dog "Droopy".
Droopy Dog! Yeah! Yes he is very droopy these days.
-
Heh, he sings like Droopy as well....no offense to Paul, but in concert, he sort of slowly lets the words roll out of him in that sort of fashion....just old age starting to get to his pipes, I guess.
-
I really, really don't think Paul aged well at all. I saw a recent pic of him from one of his shows and at first I didn't believe it was him. He was a really adorable, baby-faced type of guy when he was younger. But now he's sort of, eh...so-so looking. Not good, not bad.
Ringo doesn't look so bad for his age, really. I think he probably looks better than Paul- considering Ringo wasn't the little heartthrob Paul was. So in terms of aging "better" it goes to Ringo, of the two.
Mick Jagger? I always thought he was hideous and gross when he was young, and he still kind of turns me off. Yuck. Keith was actually much better looking than Mick in his youth, but look at Keith now! (shudder)
Roger Daltrey? Actually, not too bad. But never my type.
Pete Townshend? No. Yuck.
Rod Stewart? Looks like he's had a hell of a lot of mediocre plastic surgery.
Eric Clapton? Alright, I guess.
Guess my vote goes to Roger then. Actually, Bruce Springsteen doesn't look too bad for his age, however old he is. I'd take him over all of them.
-
What about Bob Dylan? He has not aged too well, not that there was much to age. Did anybody see the Victoria Secret commercial he was in. His face was frightening
-
Uh, well I didn't put Dylan on the list for the same reason I didn't include Keith Richards. There just didn't seem to be any point in it!! But Bob was pretty cute in his sixties days. And his son is gorgeous!
-
I think Keith Richards should be the poster child for 60s excess...
-
I've never really been a big Clapton fan, earlier or now, so that probably affects my viewpoint. Voted Paul all the same - though he seems to have had some work done. And musically speaking, well, I watched Paul live last month and there seemed to be nothing wrong with his energy or stage-presence.
I don't think Ringo is a contender at all - for the last twenty years (er, and I'm seventeen) I have never seen him without the sunglasses - and I imagine he's wearing them for a reason (his eyes where droopy even when he was young).
-
You know who looks SUPER young? Cliff Richard. I know he isn't an international phenomenon or even that well-known by anyone in the states (and I'm in the states), but there was some pic of him recently and he looked YOUNG. Well, I thougt he did. He was born in 1940 as well. Geez.
-
Cliff Richard,,,,,,he's such a devil woman with evil eyes!
-
Well, I can't claim to know anything about the man myself but he does look great for his age. Far younger than anyone on this list here, from the pic I saw.
-
Paul may be active, but he looks awful (I'm sorry). His face is pasty and sagging, he's full of wrinkles, and his boyish haircut doesn't fit his face anymore. Plus, I think he'd do better to let the hair go gray because the dye job that worked so well around 1989 just ain't cuttin' it anymore. His face looks too white and pasty for the dark hair.
On the other hand, Ringo looks great for his age. Then again, most offbeat-looking people seem to get better with age while the good-looking ones (Paul) lose their looks.
I always wonder what John would look like today. To tell you the gruth, I don't think he looked very well the last year of his life (too thin and appeared to look well over 40). I'd bet he would have been bald, too. Someof the worst John photos (IMO) are the ones where he's wearing that turtleneck sweater with Yoko (like on PEOPLE magazine and the WOMAN 45 picture sleeve). But for what it's worth, my wife thinks he looked great then!
-
Yeah, but its so subjective to guess how John would look today. I agree that he was SO skinny and frail-looking, especially in his last year. But he was also a health nut and was really into trying to quit smoking and wasn't doing any heavy drugs. His looks could have sustained and he might even appear years younger, or he could have gotten older looking, or he could have lost a little more hair but still had some, or he could be bald. Its SO subjective.
My opinion? I picture him still being kinda on the thin side, but hopefully not that thin. Also, he would have less hair, but more than Ringo, and he would kinda be youthful and more happy. I personally feel the best years were just ahead for John, and he was becoming a far more fulfilled and happy person. Tough. :(
-
You forgot to include Bruce Springsteen in that poll. Nobody has aged better than him (and that`s not only referring to looks and health, but also to artistic matters).
-
thats cause hes like 49
-
He's 54. So he's still a few years younger than the rest of the guys. Ringo's 64 right? So it would be unfair competition! I wonder who's the youngest on the list. Anyone know? I don't feel like looking each person up. I'm lazy.
-
Clapton is 59
Stewart is 59
Ringo is 64
Paul is 62
Daltrey is 60
Townsend is 59
-
People, the best aged rock star is obviously Little Richard. He looks like he could still be in his 30's or 40's.
-
He also looks as if he's had a TON of plastic surgery! Now that's not fair! Although Paul did have a face lift a few years back so maybe that's why he's got the most votes. ;D
-
pauls already 62, man.. hes geting old, how old was george when he died?
-
Not ver old. 57 or something like that. Far too young, that's for sure.

Woah. Bruce is actually 54? I'm impressed. He looks tremendously good for his age.
How about Sting or Jackson Browne. My mother thinks Sting is sexy. I think Sting is probably one of those dudes who gets manicures with his wife.
Someone mentioned Dylan. He kind of scares the living sh*t out of me, actually. (Thank God this poll is only physically-centered, though, right?)
Brian Wilson doesn't look that great, but he also had a pretty rough time so my sympathy to him all the way.
Hmmm...Ray Davies? Not too bad, but not that great either.
Simon and Garfunkel? I think Garfunkel kind of looks the way I'd imagined he would look at this age, as does Paul- though he looks SO different without his toupe. They weren't hot then and I never figured they'd look any better now, but they have preserved fairly well compared to others.
I still think Bruce is winning here. Maybe Jackson Browne could beat him out, though. How old is Jackson Browne? He looks kind of youngish, so I'm guessing he's probably still in his 40s somewhow and shouldn't count.
Tom Petty was always kind of gross and skeletal to me. He still looks the same, just older. I never even bother to look at him sometimes. I love his music, though, so I shouldn't be so cruel and shallow. But this whole poll kind of centers around being so, just slightly. ;)
-
Of those,Paul.
But where's David Bowie?
-
Bowie could have been included I guess. He's 56. Still a little bit younger than the others though. But I bet he'll still look pretty good at 64! Better than Ringo anyway. BTW, has anyone seen Ringo's eyes in the last 10 years? What's that about?
-

Everytime I see Ringo he's wearing shades... so what IS wrong with his eyes then!? :)
-
Keith Richards.
He SHOULD be DEAD!
;-)
-
clapton looks pretty good for his age, he's still a handsome guy
-
if you get a chance, google for Grand Funk Railroad - now those guys are getting ON in years!!!
Herb

I don't know. Probably nothing, but he's taken to wearing sunglasses at all times for about the last ten years! It makes you wonder.

Yeah. Him and Jack Nicholson.
-
True. But at least Nicholson takes them off for movies so we know what's going on under there! I wonder if Ringo has had any work done?

What would be the point? No one would see it under those glasses. Unless he's been healing for 20 years from one HELL of a plastic operation!
-
paul mccartneys aged well. it just shows that you can smoke an take drugs while your young but as long as you start looking after yourself by about forty then you'l be fine. Clapton dosnt look to bad either an he used to be a junkie.
-
Maybe I'm way off here, but I remember the first picture I saw of Paul after Linda had died, I couldn't believe how much older he looked. My sister thought the same thing. Before then (like during the anthology), he looked like any middle-aged man, young for his age if anything, and afterward, he looked old. :'(
-
Who voted for Mick Jagger?!?!?!!!!!!!
-
Who voted for Mick Jagger?!?!?!!!!!!!
Keith Richards.
;-)
-
Okay, so who looks older here? I think Paul even after all the surgery and hair dying. But that's just me.
-
Pau, cos he still has hair.
-
Dave's got hair!!! Well, some hair anyway. Someone said it best earlier on here. Paul looks like Droopy Dog.
-
I really think Paul looks good for his age, and daves face is just enormous. he does have a much better smile though, looks like Pauls trying to take a sh*t.
-
daves face is just enormous.
-
Well, it's heartening to know that there ARE chicks out there who like us ugly guys.
-
WHO'S ugly???
-
Scary ugly guys. The kind with evil eyes.
You know, avatars. ;-)
-
Sounds like a song...
-
yeah either his face got bigger or all that stuff around it disappeared ;)
-
Male Patterned Baldness. What a shame. I guess it was too late for Dave to use Rogaine.
-
Paul MCcartney
-
haha..Kieth Richards..what a legend.
-
ringo looks better than paul.......
-
Yeah, Ringo looks really good for his age.
-
Ringo looks good because he wears a full beard and sunglasses all the time. I wanna see him clean shaven and without the glasses. Then I'll be able to really tell.
-
I also wonder how Clapton would look without the beard. He's still very good looking. With the beard that is.
-
hum, I wonder too...
-
Eric Clapton....he looks better & healthier than Paul, Ringo, Mick Jagger & Roger Daltrey combined despite lots of drugs & drink in the past.
-
I think I agree with Wayne here. Clapton looks pretty damn good.
-
Yeah, considering what he has went through in his lifetime
-
Paul hasn't aged too well. He's still havin' kids and not like, sick or anything...but looking at 60's...or even 80's pictures and comparing that to the recent ... *shudder* The hair is disturbing. The droopy thing...seriously. o_O; And his voice is kinda wonky, but then again...he's been doin' it for a bit more than 40 years. I mean...he's a billionaire, he could sell out and get those cheeks fixed, man. >_<;
How about Sting or Jackson Browne. My mother thinks Sting is sexy. I think Sting is probably one of those dudes who gets manicures with his wife.
Sting is kinda scarty...but Jackson Browne, he's aged pretty well. No clue how old he is, but I saw him on TV a few months back...doesn't look that bad, actually.
I voted Clapton. Probably because I keep seeing 'im on those bloody cell phone commercials. . . it's a good excuse to hear "Layla", though. But he actually does look good for his age, and he's still rockin'. And giving his songs to Verizon or Cingular or whoever.
-
i voted for ringo
-
Hey, what about Billy Idol? he still looks pretty good.
-
I think Clapton looks good, but he went in for a bit of cosmetic surgery a few years ago. Keith is God and probably the most beautiful cockroach that can stand upright on the planet.
-
Ringo still looks the best definatlly better then Paul who looks older then he really is. I always wondered what Ringo would look like now without the beard, glasses and maybe some longer hair. Hmmmm, maybe we'll have to ask him one day?
Mr. Kite
-
Roger Waters :K) :K) ;D ;D
-
Eric Clapton...hes not all saggy like Paul
David Gilmour looks like a komodo dragon now
-
I kno, Paul now is disturbing
-
Eric Clapton...hes not all saggy like Paul
David Gilmour looks like a komodo dragon now
Clapton's had plastic surgery. Gilmour hasn't.
-
Yeah, thank you. If Gilmour did have a little work done I think he'd still be very attractive. But I think it's cool that he's not so vain. He still looks okay. I think the weight dosn't help either. The fact that he used to be SO good looking also adds to the shock of his current appearance. At lest to me it does! OH, and Clapton without that beard is probably very scary. Same with Ringo. Man, I would love to see him shave that thing!
-
Okay, so who looks older here? I think Paul even after all the surgery and hair dying. But that's just me.
I think Paul has had some work done since this pic. He looked really youngish at Live 8 where as Dave looked really oldish. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Just reviving and OLD thread. I like the worst aged rock star as well.
-
The funny thing for me is...when I think of how Clapton looks I find it difficult to remember him in the 60s and just remember him as the short hair, short beard, and glasses wearing guy he is today.
-
Clapton has had so many different looks over the years. I never knew how cute he was in the 60's untill I saw him play with the Dirty Mac at the Rock and Roll Circus. I only ever saw him with that Jimi Hendrix afro.
Clapton's many looks.
I like how hard he tried to hold back his laughter when Yoko started wailing.
-
What about John Fogerty? :-)
-
Daltry is still relatively fit and everything but just isn't as beautiful as he used to be. Clapton looks OK and still makes great music. Ringo and Paul have both retained their voices somewhat, but looks are so-so. I'm not a Rod Stewart fan. Poor Pete got a bit chubby. Mick looks corpse-like sometimes and relatively good other times. I guess it depends on how recently he's gotten his blood transfusion...
-
Roger Daltrey could pass for mid/late-thirties sometimes. :O Not as good looking as he was with the OMGWTF awesome long hair in the seventies, but, whatever.
... Pete Townshend looks a lot older than sixty, though. T_T Actually, he doesn't so much look like Pete Townshend anymore and it's CONFUSING.
Someone needs to tell McCartney about his hair. That's not right
Mick Jagger hasn't aged too terribly, IMHO... :3
-
Someone needs to tell McCartney about his hair.
-
Ok Paul looked nice in the Anthology series but I've seen recent photos of him and it seems that all the years have fallen so suddenly....
Mick Jagger looks like a prune... sorry, and well I've never found him attractive... ewwwkkkk!!!
Despite his age, Ringo doesn't look so bad.
Roger Daltrey, when he was young he looked good but I haven't seen him in a long time.
Pete Townsend...YUCK!
Eric Clapton is ok....
Rod Steward has always reminded me of the green little alien that appeared in The Flinstones... I don't know how to spell his name....

I see the resemblance.
Congratulations, Dark Phoenyx!
-
I voted Ringo!!! ;D
He seems to grow old gracefully! ;)
-
I voted Paul ,but i do think he looks a bit tired of late .
Bryan Ferry looks good for 62 , dam his good head of hair :(
DaveRam :)
-
I voted for Clapton because he looks healthier than McCartney & Jagger combined despite taking more drugs than the other two in the past.
-
i think out of the list that mccartney has aged the worst, going by recent photos and even before his troubles with heather if i hadnt known i would have said he was older than ringo :-/ i know it may sound bad but i really feel that with a vegan diet although it has its advantages it can also take its toll on the skin and hair...
-
Ringo
-
I would say Ringo, but again it's the glasses and beard that make me suspicious.
-
I would like to see Ringo without the glasses and tbe beard.
-
I don't think Paul looks all that bad for his age, I've seen way worse. It happens to everyone, but he still looks pretty good to me, but he definitly looked his best as a Beatle! Ringo looks good too, but I've never seen him without glasses or a beard.
-
HAH! I just tied up Paul and Ringo at 33 1/3. !!! That means George is the best looking aged rock star! *searches for logic * fails to find it... it must be the gin and tonic* ;D
-
Hard to say. So many have had some nips and tucks (Clapton is a good example), others have had touch ups, but they need to stay young in their own retro kind of way. One wonders if JL would have been true to his age. I like to think so and miss what he would have done in the post 911 era. One of my favorite sayings comes from him, which is "Fighting for Peace is like f***ing for Virginity"---or something to that effect.
-
McCartney... I think he looks good for his age. As my mom says "he looks after himself"... Ringo is 2nd place
*GOT- say fendertele... how do you pronounce your screen name?
-
*silently tips the scales*
;D
EDIT: oops, forgot to say who I voted for (Ringo - looks very cool for his age, methinks. Though Paul, being Paul, looks great too! (thumbsup))
-
I think Ringo, because in the last 8 years to me it seems as though he hasn't aged a bit. But also, Bryan ferry looks extermely good for his age (more like 52 than 62), and paul looks ok. Dylan looks pretty bad, and I'd imagine John would look perty bad, and jack bruce doesnt look that great either.
-
you know who would have won had he been on this poll?bruce springsteen...
-
Macca's hair sometimes lets him down at times! ;D :P
-
its just fendertele short for fender telecaster the guitar kaliedoscope eyes :)
-
you know who would have won had he been on this poll?bruce springsteen...
Yeah, but isn't he a good 10 years younger than the other guys? But he is aging well. Very well.
-
I can't believe anyone would say that Mick Jagger isn't attractive. I mean, I know he's old enough to be my grandfather and everything, but it's good that he isn't my grandfather because I would totally tap that ass.
-
I can't believe anyone would say that Mick Jagger isn't attractive. I mean, I know he's old enough to be my grandfather and everything, but it's good that he isn't my grandfather because I would totally tap that ass.
lmao thats the funniest thing ive heard since ive joined here not the bit about you liking mick jagger but the whole ass tapping ;D
-
Well, it's true. Hey, maybe Mick would go for me, you never know. I may not be skinny and blonde but I am pretty young and you how much rockstars like that :)
-
I'd worry about the wrinkles. That ain't pretty.
-
Sorry, but Clapton.
Paul and Ringo looks fantastic.
And Mick, SADLY, he's still looks great and freakingly muscular. Big bastard.
-
ringo most definately ;]
-
Macca's hair sometimes lets him down at times! ;D :P
Yeah, that's funny!
And welcome bobbydylanlover! Enjoy the forums! ;)
-
Yeah, that's funny!

look at his hair here!
Yes, welcome Bobbydylanlover to the forums! Enjoy! :)
-
slap on an old mop top wig on ringo's head and i honestly don't think you'd notice he had aged
-
i'd say either Paul or Brian May who isn't in the poll.
-
Back in the 90s I thought Paul looked very youthful for his age, even more so in the 80s when he looked very boyish still. However, the last 7 or 8 years he really started to look his true age.
-
I voted Daltry, but I tend to agree w/ the consensus....come to think of it, Ringo DOES look better than Macca these days (Barbara must be doing something right *nudge nudge, wink, wink* (as Eric Idle would say)
Paulie is looking a little long in the tooth these days, but I think he'll rejuvinate back (ok, that was spelled wrong, but I'm too lazy at the moment to fix it)
-
Here is Paul in '93, when he was 50/51.. still quite youthful looking for that age.
