I like them a lot.

'Glad to be Unhappy' and 'Words Of Love' are my two favorites by them.

Great band. Pitty I'm not familiar with their complete discography but I plan to listen to most their albums soon. At least, this year  8)

Oh, I remember being a 10-11 year old boy and listening to California Dreamin' all the time. I loved that song and I still like it.
They were pretty good. What a shame about Mama Cass's dead. Was that tragic or comedy? I don't know.  ::)

The ham sandwhich thing is a myth. She died of a heart attack. So I guess tragedy wins.

Their 1967 autobiographical hit single was Creeque Alley.

Cue the tape...

This is the original version of 'California Dreamin'' by Barry McGuire (of 'Eve of Destruction' fame), with The Mamas & The Papas on backing vocals.

I heard this version, BARRY McGUIRE'S vocals just ruins the song. The music sounds exactly the same as THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS version. I used to think that this song was a MAMAS AND THE PAPAS song, hear it for yourself.
