What do you mean you are not registered? Is leaving Moscow hard (financially)?
In Russia, when you live somewhere but not in the place where you were born, you have to be official registered there, you have to have a paper that say that you live or rent an apartment. But here there is no such practice and a person who lease an apartment do not help you to get such paper. It looks like you are living in your home town but you work in another place. I think 90% of the people, who rent and live away from there birthplaces, have no official papers. I read that in America there is not such thing as a registration, we can live wherever you want, but here if you rent you have to go to some state institution, pay some registration fee and get a document; and do it each year.
And about leaving Moscow. Leaving for another town in Russia is not hard, because Moscow so expensive that other cities and towns seems to be OK if we talk about finances. But the life in these towns is not good. I hardly see my future in Russia. Right now I try to leave for Canada.
