Best MAF track for 2nd single
« on: June 24, 2007, 09:02:16 PM »

Maybe a stupid poll? Not to me!!
Which song from Memory Almost Full would be the best second single? The album is enjoying so much success that I guess it's really probably at least another single off this masterpiece!!
To me, ideal would be a Double A-Sided single!! ( 8) ) EVER PRESENT PAST / YOU TELL ME (I want a ballad as a single  :) )

Of course if you pick any of the medley tracks, it's going to be necesary a new edit, so that could be really interesting...

I voted for Ever Present Past as it's got brilliant single appeal!
i'm not sure if it was released in America as a single before the album? :-/ anyone know?
Basically i can't see a lot of siongle appeal on the album apart from Dance Tonight or
Ever Present Past. Mr Bellamy would might be interesting as a single.
it's like Abbey Road with Come Together & Something. then everything else works
better on the album.
Besides, i though Jenny Wren was an odd single choice from the chaos album
after Fine Line.

I voted for The End Of The End because it's the most powerful track on the album & it would be a great followup to the cheerful Dance Tonight.

'Ever Present Past' and 'See Your Sunshine' are awful and easily the worst songs on the album (except for maybe 'Dance Tonight'). Anyways, none of those songs are going to make a good single except for maybe 'Only Mama Knows'.

I'm freaking struggling with the whole damn album and it p*sses me off as i'm usually so pro Macca. Why is the album being rated so highly and why cant I grab ahold of it? I tfruly want to, but its just not hitting me. I rank this album along side 'Driving Rain' and it clearly doesnt hold a candle to 'Chaos and Creation' in my opinion.

I like MAF better than Chaos.
We can't all like the same thing i suppose.
It's the same with the beatles Revolver. so many people rate it highly
but i don't really like it that much. taxman, eleanor rigby, got to get you into my life,
& for no one but the rest of it baffles me. Personally i think that And Your Bird Can
Sing & Doctor Robert are some of the worst songs they recorded.

Something isn't good just because it's in the charts. Take that, anyone? Mika, R Kelly???

But I said 'And the charts are telling that it is a great album TOO' meaning that it's only a lot of people who are saying it is a great album.Do you understand it now?

Only Mama Knows jumps up & down very loudly in Dr Marten boots shouting "Single" IMHO.

My favourite track is House Of Wax but I don't think it is single material.

I'm still trying to come to terms with the Traveling Wilburys hitting No 1!!
I genrally tend to hate everything in the charts these days, as i'm always searching for
other obscure artist & groups. I find a lot of very good singer-songwriters out there
today but they never tend to chart or anything. But A LOT of groups today just
all sound the same to me, i can't tell the difference!  :-/

That's true, the only hot artists I like is Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz and Madonna... and they're not really young either.
But when you see this man reaching #3 it feels so good, because at least is someone good rising the top positions, the same with Traveling Wilburys, a #1 hit that really impressed me!!
And consider this, there are 4 Beatles-related albums in the UK charts right now: MAF, T. Wilburys, Sgt. Pepper and Lennon Legend!

Yep, the same can be said about End Of The End, I'm afraid ... but another good piece of work too! :)

Having listend to the album a lot now ,  " That Was Me " maybe would make a good single , nothing is going to chart high so maybe he should take a risk with this song .
It's becoming a favourite ,it's got a bit of attitude about it .

Yeah. I love the track, he really screams in that one. Paul still has such an amazing voice. That was something that he doesn't show much in 'Chaos and Creation in the Backyard', but in this harder new album he uses his fantastic high notes again. Never like Stevie Wonder, but really good...
