The Beatles took DC in a snowstorm

Everybody screamed, journalists commented on the silly haircuts, the interviews were high-energy, infused with wit, sarcasm, and lit cigarettes. Most fans of modern music know that The Beatles invaded America in 1964 and played on The Ed Sullivan Show.  But did you know the band hopped a train – they eschewed air travel due to reports of nasty weather - and stayed in this city immediately after the Ed Sullivan hysteria?  And that, here, they played their first ever concert in North America ? Yes, Washington DC – February 11, 1964.
