That's a great vid, Kev.  My v62 is just like that right down to the slight buzz in the flat wound strings (not fret buzz), the less bright low E string and the "woody" sound.

That guy has lots of great guitars on the wall behind him!

My first guitar was a Guild F-30 which I traded in for a 1969 Martin D-35.  I saw a video of Merle Haggard playing one and fell in love with that three-piece Brazilian rosewood back.  I still have that guitar today.

Kev, when I was taking lessons from Ian Buchanan, I admired his Gibson L-5 CES.  But it had a thin jazz neck which wasn't comfortable for me.  So I found this 1959 Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster in 1972.  There was no vintage market in those days.  It was a just used, affordable guitar in mint condition and the neck was just right for me...

I still have this guitar too.

This guy was famous for playing one in the 1950s...

So was this guy in the 70s...

I've Seen All Good People - Jon Anderson, Chris Squire - Yes 1973 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hLK4-JufR8#ws)

Amazing what one can do with a jazz guitar!

I looked at several, Kev.  I love his 1964 Gretsch Tennesseean...

I'm happy with what I have, Kev.  It's a modest collection put together over 45 years.  Just a small sample of some of the great guitars to come our way over the past 50 years.

That Switchmaster has the most comfortable neck, for me.  It's followed closely by the Country Gentleman and the Les Paul Junior.  The 12-strings (360-12C63 and Guild F30-12) have necks about as wide as the Switchmaster and are easy to play.

The Hofner is a whole new experience for me!  It's got me listening more closely to songs and following the basslines.
