Melisma...my new vocabulary word for the week. Now I have to sit down and listen to the song to really get it.  :)

I didn't know what melisma meant so I looked it up and last night while I was listening to Not A Second Time I laughed because that song does have melisma in it.Especially at the end when John says "Not a second time".

'It Won't Be Long' - it just rocks.

The first 3 songs, 'It Won't Be Long', 'All I've Got To Do' and 'All My Loving' are the best on the terrific and underrated album. Gotta shout out the 3 great Motown covers, though. It makes me feel so good to know that my favorite Beatle, John, really loved Motown just like I do.

Hello fellow Beatle 'eads !! "All my loving" ticks all my boxes on this one ! Paul,s first GREAT song in my opinion . It just fills me with a joy for living, unbounded energy and a feeling that all things are possible albeit for a moment, as the melody instantly  engages our senses and driven by Ritchie,s unrelenting free form drum work to ever increasing euphoria  we get caught up,  and rocketing skyward we soar unfetterd, finding release for heart and soul as we are carried along by Paul,s youthful  enthusiastic vocal delivery . I feel on this song it,s as if Paul is extending an invitation to us , his audience, to climb on board to join  him in a private party , like "Don,t bother to bring a bottle guys  , I,ll supply the booze , come as you are and leave the rest up to me "!! This number rocks .

That's easy. 'All My Loving'.

The chimes on top of the town-hall of the place where I live in often play this song. Always nice to hear when you're walking through the town.
