KT Tunstall--Eye To The Telescope

(I'm a huge KT fan. This Scotch lass can rock. She is brilliant w/ her introspective songs as well. Saw her this past year in The Big Apple)

Well, two recent records I bought today. Usher's Confessions and Madonna's Confessions on a Dance Floor. I know it's quite different from the majority of the albums I have, but I listening different stuff, not just Soul and Soft Rock!  :)

Hehe. It's her 2005 album, Confessions on a Dance Floor. It's a really good piece of non-stop dance music, I mean there's no ballads in here, but it's all good stuff. 'Hung Up' became her biggest hit single, so surely you heard it somewhere. The other singles are really good, there's no one bad song. It's impressive how well recorded the album is. I guess she's using the best techonology in the business. I've never heard an album sounding like this one.

But what is really blowing me up now is Joni Mitchell's new album 'Shine'. You have to hear it Andy, it's fantastic. She's old and her voice doesn't sound like in her 1971's 'Blue', but I think she's still amazing. Just listen to the opening track, the instrumental 'One Week Last Summer'. It's beautiful.  :)

I'm just discovering Joni, and I think she's great. 'Blue' is one of my Top 10 favourite albums of all time.  8)

I got the Travelling Wilbury's box set for my brother for Christmas, so then I had to get it for myself. One of the most enjoyable records I've ever heard.

I bought two CDs at the "Boxing Week" sales: The Dreamgirls soundtrack and Imagine by Eva Cassidy. I really enjoyed the Dreamgirls CD, but that's because I love showtunes. The Eva Cassidy CD I would recommend to everyone.

I guess this was my most recent purchase, as well. Man, I love this set! Disc 1 sees the most play, but Disc 2 has some gems as well: Inside Out, Cool Dry Place and Wilbury Twist are my favorites.

I spent some money for the re-release of:
Depeche Mode - Black Celebration, A Broken Frame, Construction Time Again
Remastered Led Zep - III and Houses of the Holy; Yes - 90125
RPWL - World Through My Eyes
Alice In Chains - AIC and Facelift
and the new Dave Gahan (Hourglass)

Luckily there was a discount.

I am next hoping to buy:

Radiohead- Ok computer (apparently....a classic album which I never got).
Radiohead - In rainbows (I like it)

The last CD I actually got was the jimi hendrix experience live at montery (new release) around the christmas excitement period, and is worth the price alone for Brian Jones' pure adulation of the band at the beginning! Such a tight performance..
