Title: Cavern Club book cover
Post by: on February 28, 2007, 02:00:15 PM
Hello,  I am looking for some help finding a beatles book or magazine, so if anyone here can advise that would be appreciated.  It has a picture of the Cavern club with male fans leaning towards the photographer on the fron cover.  I think it may be a first edition and was told it is an official beatles publication and probably from the early 60's.  Cheers.

I did a long research. There's Cavern Club Books from the early sixties being sold on eBay.

The magazine 'On The Scene At The Cavern' was written and compiled by Alistair Griffin. Griffin was actually Beatles publicist Tony Barrow who used the pen name in his writings for Beatles Monthly. Tony reprinted it in 1984 under his own name. It includes a brief introduction by Cavern DJ Bob Wooler and an introductory letter from Cavern owner Ray McFall. There are lots of photos, many of them originally taken for Mersey Beat, plus a profile of McFall, a Cavern diary of dates and a history of the club.
