On that note, every day above ground, is a good day for me!

Forgive me if I’ve already said it somewhere, I’m getting old and senile!  :)

You're not the only one; yesterday I went out for coffee with friends and brought my makeup bag instead of my wallet to the counter to order.  icon_redface

Ha ha Kathy! That sounds like the stuff I do everyday. Like Barry said, it's the brain drain. You'll find out in a few years. LOL

Hey, it's the end of September!  Did you see...

...in the theater yet, Kathleen?

^^^^^^

No, unfortunately I missed it, Barry. Between the kids' schedule and budget constraints (the theater jacks up the price for classic movies) I was not able to make it. So disappointed.  :'(

Sorry to hear that, Kathleen.  Well, there's still tonight's total lunar eclipse going on right now.  It's completely overcast here but perhaps you can see it up there.

I just caught a ten second glimpse of Luna as it emerges from Earth's shadow.

Our local newspaper is falling all over itself apologizing -- two printed statements so far -- for misspelling "duck" with an "f" in an article on hunting the other day. Guess they don't bother proofing their pages.  ;)

The kind of hunting that occurs in bars across the world on Friday nights.   icon_cool

Very random this: how do I make a line drawing out of a photo? I want to get it printed on textile but I don't think it can be a proper photo, a single colour line drawing would probably work better, right...? Its a hoodie, specs here

Thanks!  icon_good

I'd get some tracing paper, tape it over the photo, then use a nice dark pen to line out the main features. If you're looking for some digital solution, I'm not sure. Some Photoshop filters can do certain things, but I don't know about this very thing. Maybe someone else has a suggestion for that.

My elder daughter loves art and does this all the time; I will ask her tonight how she does it. Right now she's working on an Andy Warhol–style panel of a photo of Louis Tomlinson (of One Direction) for a class. She worked out some complicated grid system.

Jim's (Klang) idea sounds logical, and probably easier, but I'll see if Monica has anything to offer.  :)

Here's my daughter's advice; again, it may be more complicated than what you want to do. Good luck!

What I was taught to do when I wanted to re-create a photo as a drawing was to grid the photo (I print it out) and grid the paper I was going to draw on. I usually take my picture and grid it with one inch grid lines (or however many inches depending on size) and redraw the grid again on the paper. Then I just draw the lines out in the corresponding boxes and then once I'm done I erase the grid lines and I'm left with the line picture. It can get kind of complicated though depending on the size of your image and how big you want it be, if the image is smaller and you want to make it larger then how you grid the picture will be different from how you grid the paper, for example one piece I did I had to grid the picture by one inch squares and grid my paper by inch-and-a-half squares. Hope this somewhat helps!
