Well thanks everyone for the Aussie best wishes. It's not everyday you turn 228. And really we don't feel a day over 200.
Yes, that certainly merits a toast. Good thing you unscrewed a red. (That isa drink, right?)
Oh yes. All our wine now has screw tops since they've found it seals better than cork and eliminates tainted wine from bad corks. So think of it as uncorking a red.
That's what I thought. It's the same thing here. I've been working on a nice red myself. I went to the most incredible store last week, Premier Wine and Liqours. It was huge and full of wines from all over the world and what did I come home with? Good old Bully Hill Banty Red from Hammondsport NY. I never even made it out of my state. But it's so good.
Black Opel is my favorite! The most drinkable wine I've ever had!
Well. I'm on the south coast. Enduring rubbish weather but still getting a swim and boogie board in.
My favourite Aussie redbeautiful drop
come to Brisbane matealways warm here
I'm finding I'm sticking to ones I know more as well. I figure if I'm going to shell out decent money for a wine I want to know it's good. Not just hope.
That is exactly my philosophy! I can't afford to waste money on something that I don't like. Been there, done that. Of course, then at holiday times all sorts of pricey wines go on sale. Then it's harder to go back to the less expensive stuff.
Happy Australia Day to our Australian forum members.
