When I was a kid it was taken for granted that you bought UK bands in UK pressings because the sound would be better and the track sequencing would be what the band intended. There
are good US variants, though: the American versions of
Out Of Our Heads and
Between the Buttons are stronger than their UK equivalents, and the US
The Rolling Stones, Now is far superior to the British
Rolling Stones No 2. Sound quality was still a problem back in the days of vinyl, though, and I used to assemble my US Rolling Stones albums from British pressings because the American versions usually had a lot of tape hiss and really awful fake stereo on them.
