Is there any need for that? They've already released the Red and Blue albums remastered. But well, I didn't buy 1 ten years ago and won't buy it this time as well.

I wish they would dedicate their time to other pursuits. Like something the true fans want... Let It Be on DVD, Shea Stadium, Carnival Of Light, etc.

That is a neat video and the price for that is right.  ;) I've often wondered if Magical Mystery Tour could ever really be made much better, given the quality of it to begin with.

I saw this on Beatlephotoblog and thought I'd share it here. I couldn't agree more with the author.

Attention Apple THIS is how you do a box set, THIS is the quality you give to deserving fans, but what do they offer up to us for the 2009 remamsters?, standard cd packaging, a five minute Quicktime video at the end of the disc, and constant emails offering us t shirts, and ‘White album pens’ worth three hundred dollars. Now The Beach Boys, that’s another story, have a look at what they’re dishing up to the fans for the long awaited SMiLE release, i tell you, i have more than a bit of wee coming out at the mere thought of finally getting my hands on this. The Beatles remasters were so underwhelming to me that i purchased three of them, and that was enough. I no longer live in hope that one day Apple will get something basically right, the HELP! DVD was cool, but beyond that and Anthology, the it’s been the very definition of ‘Epic fail’, what makes my heart sink is the thought that the Presley estate was able to make a seven dvd set for the 68 Comeback special, this was filmed over only two days, now .. the Let it be/Get Back project was 28 days of filming and recording, do you see what i mean about the old heart sinking feeling?.

Indeed, it looks like the SMiLE box set is going to be pretty spectaculair. But I would like to add that it comes after Capitol has grossly mishandled the Beach Boys catalogue for decades.

So, there's hope for us Beatlesfans after all.
