In my opinion, the Beatles are not only the greatest musical act of all time, but also mankind's crowning artistic achievement.

The Anthology version of 'Bathroom Window' was probably the highlight of the whole series for me.

As of Friday (and it also happened to be a Friday in 1969) the Abbey Road photograph was 45 years old.

If the Abbey Road 'medley' had been called 'Suite' or 'The End', rather than a collection of different song titles, would it be regarded as the greatest song by the group?

In my opinion, it would.

George wins this for me:

1 Here Comes the Sun
2 Something

I can't name number 3. It'd be a tie between Come Together, I Want You, Because, You Never Give Me your Money, Golden Slumbers/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window.

I honestly can't separate them. Such a great album.

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics!

I suspect that in a poll of favourite Beatles songs the individual tracks on 'Abbey Road' (with the exception of George's two) would struggle to get into the Top 50.
However, ask people what their favourite LP by the group is and 'Abbey Road' would be on the top of many lists.

The England football manager would do well to remember this next time he thinks Wayne Rooney is world class!

A masterpiece by any other name still sounds damn good. ;)
