Yeah, our heatwave is just business as usual for you George! It's hot right now but at least it's still a dry heat. The forecast called for high humidity today but so far that's been wrong. Humidity is what really does me in.

When I was on my college newspaper, I was assigned to interview Linda Ronstadt backstage before a concert. I couldn't get a single word out of my mouth. She mussed my hair and told me I was cute and that we could try again after the show. I wasn't any better after the concert.

I'm taking the kids to the University of Missouri week after next and I've been cautioning them how disgusting it is there in August. The good news is that the hotel (a decent, three-star one) is only $50/night. That speaks volumes, actually.

I've never been there but I'm sure I would find it difficult just now! I did speak on the phone a few years ago with a gentleman from Missouri who was part of my dad's flight crew on a B-24. I came across an interview with him when I googled Dad's name and got in touch with the girl who wrote the article. He was 91 then and I believe he is still alive, bless his heart.
