What a great idea for a thread starofwonder!  :D

Wasn't it Jayne Mansfield who tugged at Ringo's mop of hair and giggled "Is this real?" until John grabbed her boobs and shouted "Are these?"  ha2ha

Here's a famous one of the fabs meeting the greatest...

Almost thirteen years later, Ali and Lennon met up again, this time at the inaugural dinner for new US President Jimmy Carter...

Beatles and Alma Cogan

Alma Cogan was the first female pop star - yet was dead by 34. For years, there were cruel whispers about her sexuality. But now her sister reveals she was John Lennon's lover:

WAS nt there a story of  the Beatles being in a hotel in Italy
and Noel Coward was in the same hotel
I think Noel put out a few feelers ... but they did nt meet up .
( or  something like that )

Pity, cos Noel was a great songwriter and an international star to boot !

I believe Noel Coward once remarked, following a Beatles concert, that they were: "Bad-mannered little sh*ts who had a certain guileless charm and stayed on mercifully for not too long".

I was indifferent about him prior to learning of that, since then I've never liked the old *%@*!

Here's one of The Beatles with actor Laurence Olivier, who is obviously smiling because he's getting George's autograph!

How about a few of The Beatles and comedians of the 60s?

Here they are with fellow Liverpudlian Ken Dodd:                    ...with Eric Morecambe & Ernie Wise:

...and alongside Frankie Howerd in a deleted scene from "Help!":

No doubt a thrilling moment for all four Beatles as they meet one of their original
rock & roll heroes - the fabulous Little Richard!

Another meeting with one of their early influences...
this time the boys jam with the great Fats Domino:

Look closely, you can see the star shaped watch that
Fats is wearing which so impressed Paul when he was
reminiscing about this meeting in an interview many years
later (on Anthology I think?)

Unfortunately, there were no official photos taken when the Beatles met Elvis. Here's two of only a handful taken that evening...
In the first one, Elvis is top left corner, standing in the doorway, and John is in white trousers, walking away.

And in this one I assume Elvis and his entourage (including Priscilla in white) are watching as the cars containing the Beatles prepare to leave ...

I'm sure I have seen a picture of either George or Paul meeting Elvis in the 70s, but I can't find it on Google images.

The Beatles were fans of The Big "O" - American singer Roy Orbison - who toured with them in 1963 and agreed to step down from top billing and let them close the show. It was obvious to Roy that the fab four were going to be huge, and he encouraged them that they could be massive over in the USA. Coming from one of their heroes that carried a lot of weight and The Beatles always remained fond of Roy. Of course many years later in the 1980s Roy and George teamed up as part of The Traveling Wilburys.

Funny that none of the Beatles were ever nabbed for  "This is Your Life"
during the  60s
Eamon and the guys must have thought about it surely ?

I also contribute to a TV & Movie forum and only yesterday on a "This Is Your Life" thread someone coincidentally pointed out the same thing. Although none of The Beatles have been the subject of the show, three of them have appeared (separately)  as guests.

I don't think John ever appeared on the programme but Paul appeared via an on screen link to pay tribute to Spike Milligan if I recall correctly - also I seem to think they "got" George Martin and Paul appeared on screen there too (aswell as George and/or Ringo if I'm not mistaken). Ringo certainly appeared in the studio as a guest on someone's "Life" (can't remember whose) and George put in an appearance for his old friend, racing driver Damon Hill.
