I wanna buy an electric piano with a hammer-action keyboard to study. Or should I buy a synthesizer for a first time? I have $700 for this. Yamaha, Casio, what? Any advises? ???

Here what I chose for now - Korg SP-170:

Have you considered a Nord?
It may be a bit more money but it is a fine all round professional keyboard manufacturer.

More expensive

No, I haven't.
Nord is nice! It seems it is for real professionals. It is very sophisticated and very expensive for me.

It is pro kit....Have you thought about just getting a midi controller keyboard like Roland or M-Audio? You can USB them from your PC and with various software have almost any sound you can imagine and loads cheaper and better quality than a purpose mid-priced keyboard. ;)

I was thinking about MIDI but I have decided to have a stand-alone piano, not occupying a computer. Also I would like an electronic piano with keyboard which is more alike real piano. Thinking now about Korg SP250 http://korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=134 (http://korg.com/Product.aspx?pd=134) I tried it alive and I liked it a lot. Yamaha didn't impressed me much.
The price for Korg SP250 is low as $700. Here, in Russia, it is more expensive though - $1100. I wonder if I can order from the US or Europe and how much will it cost to ship to Russia.

This is one of the main sellers in Western Europe at the moment. Cheap and good service. Not sure if they ship to Russia tho: http://www.thomann.de/ (http://www.thomann.de/)

Thanks, Cor! Very nice website. I think I could try to order there. It seems they ship to Russia.
-
You're welcome. You can always come and pick it up here. ;D

Unfortunately, the problems with shipment to Russia are all around:

Are already good 6 months now.
We are trying to find a way to restart it but it could take longer.

Hi Dmitry,
I went through this dilemma a few months ago when I started to play keyboard (I play guitar already), and I eventually settled on a digital piano.
As part of my 'research' and 'education', I posted quite a bit on this site; they may have some advice for you there on the forums:

All the best,
