So none of the other 10 songs could have got an airing on the BBC, Radio Luxembourg or any of the American Air Forces radio stations?

I don't know about the UK, but here in the US we began hearing some Beatles on the radio in the fall of 1963.  Credit Murray The K on WINS AM radio for playing She Loves You as early as September 1963 in the New York City area.

I didn't consider "Yellow Submarine" because the song had been released before, but it's ok for those who want to consider it. Same goes for "Magical Mystery Tour".

Why does that matter Hombre, arent we just picking our favourites ?

1. Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends

Can't hear 1 without the other

I like your list, only change would be moving Drive My Car up to number 8 or 9

You must have a beef with the "Beep Beep"s I'm guessing?

Fair enough, but the 45 would surely have had many airings on the radio before release.

I didn't know about the pre-releasing airings. It makes sense though!

There's no problem, just my criteria. I guess I want the Yellow Submarine album to be deleted from the history, it's not a proper album for me. The four "new" songs could have been released in the Anthologies, for example. I love the movie, though.

I'd prefer to consider "Magical Mystery Tour": it would be #8 in my list.

OK.  I'll give it a try.

1. It Don't Come Easy (Starr, 1971)

2. ''Act Naturally'' [Live]

3. Boys - Live

Personally, I think "It Don't Come Easy" is one of the best solo Beatles songs bar none.  Ringo really did himself proud with that one, IMO.

Ahh Ok I see your reason, its not because it was previously released but because you don't consider it a 'proper. album

and that's why you (or I ) didn't include MMT

It would have been a terribly long wait.

The Beatles may not have considered Yellow Submarine a "proper album" but we here in the US certainly did.  In early 1969, the White Album and Yellow Submarine were #s 1 and 2.

Judging by the various lists 'Drive My Car' definitely polarizes opinion, one's got it on top, one's got it at the bottom.
I certainly wouldn't have it in a Top 50 Fabs' tunes.

It's never been a huge favourite of mine.  It's got a lot going for it. The riffs are good and it's got heaps of energy. I think it's just lacking melodically so never held my interest as much as others of theirs.

It's the poor man's "Day Tripper".

"Rubber Soul" is my favourite Beatles album but "Drive My Car" isn't in my top 100 Beatles songs. My biggest gripe with it is (unusually) Paul's vocal. That kind of faux-American accent like he used on "She's A Woman". Awful.

I know, but I think that the Beatles discography is more beautiful without the album Yellow Submarine. Sometimes less is better.

Good comparison with "Day Tripper", but I think "Drive My Car" is a perfect opener, with that great intro, and the ambient is groovy. I also love the "beep, beep's"!
