no it was mike nesmith....he went on as michael blessing and produced for the nitty gritty dirt band....peter was a teacher at first...stu probally had more talent....

I think they dropped him like a hot potato when they realised what Hendrix was. I had all The Monkees catalogue once - am I right in that only the last few were done as a real band? I meant before all their big famous bands were the Kareoke ones. I didn't know about Pete (my favourite) being that musical. Thought it was Nesmith

everything from the birds the bees and the monkees was them,there were session players but the first 3 were not all of them,altho mike always played his own stuff....sweet young thing,what am i doing hanging round,papa genes blues.....introducing the monkees,more of the monkees and monkee headquarters was others and mike and davey...davey did his own parts also....chip douglas,boyce and hart we usually there too...

i went looking for a site i saw once with all the info and got a foriegn page the made my browser faulter.....i had to reboot and tried to open the window again and again it faultered....

I think Pete was classically trained and a multi-instrumentalist. When I saw them live he performed a solo classical piece on piano.

i don't think he is as dedicated as rick stanbridge he learned to mime first....some like rick deserve to make it......pete was probally like people claim about ringo...the least talented...tak a poll and see if i'm right....not that i am downing him...only his calibre of dedication...
