Occasionally, I will read posts (not so much on this forum, but others) where a Beatle newbie quotes from a Beatles interview without knowing the Beatles were supreme put-on artists with the press, especially in the early years. What one of them said in jest in 1964 is too often quoted as the truth.
From Playboy, 1964:
Playboy: To bring up another topic that's shocking to some, how do you feel about the homosexual problem?
George: Oh yeah, well, we're all homosexuals, too.
Ringo: Yeah, we're all queer.
Paul: But don't tell anyone.
Believe it or not, one young lad on another forum believed this bit of Beatle humor.

I suppose if you were a gay man in London in the 1960's, it might be a problem. Actually the real problem was blackmailers, eh?
