Theater named for Brian Epstein to feature open house on his birthday

The new Epstein Theatre in Liverpool recently renamed in honor of the late Beatles manager Brian Epstein will open its doors to the public for a special preview on the date of his birth Wednesday.

Liverpool encourages venues to embrace The Beatles' 50th anniversary year

Liverpool Convention Bureau is hoping that The Beatles' 50th anniversary year will attract event planners' attentions.The organisation has compiled top tips on incorporating the Fab Four into conferences and events in the city to mark fifty years since the final Beatles line-up came into fruition in 1962 following the sacking of original drummer Pete Best in August of that year.

Hilarie Mukavitz - A lot of the artists featured in this series have been lesser known. You might have heard of their work, but odds are you hadn't heard of them. I'm guessing unless you're reading this blog from Planet Koozebane, you've heard of the Beatles. What you may not know is while the Muppets did many covers and parodies of Beatles songs, the Beatles themselves, one in particular, were also fans of the Muppets.

Beatles painting sparked bidding war at auction

The unusual painting done by all four Beatles while on tour in Japan in 1966 sparked a small bidding war between a pair of potential buyers when it was sold late last week, a spokesman for Philip Weiss Auctions told Beatles Examiner Tuesday.

New Beatles Documentary 'Beatles Stories' to be released on DVD October 2nd

October 5th, 2012 will mark the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles’ first single, "Love Me Do", which launched the Fab Four's career. Curiosity for The Beatles has never waned over the past five decades, and now Director/Producer Seth Swirsky is releasing to DVD Beatles Stories (Cinema Libre Studio) on October 2nd, a new documentary featuring intimate stories of the band from the famous and not-so famous.

Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine' film production supervisor succumbs to cancer

John Coates, who had a long list of animated film credits including work as the production supervisor for the Beatles' film “Yellow Submarine,” has died after a bout with cancer, according to the BBC.
