Republicans...
« on: October 30, 2004, 06:02:48 PM »

Things you have to believe to be a Republican today:

Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy
made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad
guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with
China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but
multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind
without regulation.

Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in
speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, yet providing health
care to all Americans is socialism.

HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.

Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but
creationism should be taught in schools.

A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense,
however a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands
die is solid defense policy.

Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution,
which include banning gay marriages and censoring the internet.

The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George
Bush's cocaine conviction is none of our business.

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a
conservative radio host. Then it's an illness, and you need our prayers
for your recovery.

You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can
tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt.

What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what
Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.

There's one for Democrats as well.

I hate Bush and hope he and Cheney go down in flames, publickly losing everything.

But regardless, both parties are pretty much gulity of the same malfeasance.

I'm not a card carrying Republican or Democrat but I am an Independent who believes in God, I'm anti-war even though I believe in a strong defense against enemies of the U. S., I'm pro- life because I love children while pro-choice is for murder, I think pot should be legalized even though I don't smoke it, I predict Bush will defeat Kerry by about 4 or 5 points in the presidential election, the UN is a waste of time & should be terminated while Kofi Annan is a joke, I don't care what gays & lesbians do in their own lives but I don't have to agre with it, if you believe the political rhetoric from both political parties you're a bigger idiot than you know.

I'm not here to cause any ruckus but I have my opinions & whether you agree with me or disagree with me I don't really care.  I do know that if John Kerry does get elected he will be attacked politically more so than President Bush ever was which was way over the top.

I'm absolutely sure he won't because he isn't half as extreme as Bush is. Bush is extreme right wing (at least by Dutch standards), Kerry is a bit more to the middle.

Welcome back :)  I agree with most of what you said, except about abortion and the UN.  Unfortunately I also have a feeling that Bush will win, but I'm praying for Kerry!

While youre right about him being more moderate, (because thats what he thinks will win voters) you have to remember that in that circumstance it would be Republicans doing the attacking, and they are much more intense than the Democrats when it comes to attacking.

Calling Kerry a moderate politically is like calling Ashlee Simpson an artist.

Kerry is a left moderate.  He voted for the War for Christs sake, thats a pretty moderate liberal.

But Kerry is against the war in Iraq now rhetorically because of the radical far left anti-war activists in the Democratic Party who he has been kissing up to all through this election season & ever since he first got back from Vietnam & became an anti-war activist in the early 70's more so than the average American whether you're for it or against it.

Not true! Kerry did vote for bush's war for oil...er I mean the war in Iraq, but it was to authorize the president to use force if needed only after all peaceable means had been exhausted. Which bush did not! "dubya"should

The UN is a waste of time while Kofi Annan is one of the biggest idiots of all time like most in the UN which is why this ludicrious orginization should be abolished immediately.  The UN is all about corruption more than freeing people from murderous dictators like Saddam Hussein while President Bush didn't need permission from the UN anyway for the war in Iraq or anywhere else in the near future.

The UN, although I would'nt know it's 'intracies' and corruption at least has a name which embraces the world. Why is Kofi Anan an idiot? Please explain. Seemed to me he has a detatched, you could say more objective view of the world than the arrogance that you are suggesting. So whatever you want you will do, f*** the rest? It's attitudes like that, that will get us all blown up!. Go sucks Bush's Coc.....Man or smoke a peace pipe mate!
I knew I should'nt get into politics. Apologies to all decent people from America. Wayne I hold this opinion in this topic. Don't wanna start slagging match with you. Sure theres lots of better Beatle things to discuss.
