^Not bad for a 66 year old guy, even assuming he's probably sucking in his gut a little. I mean, compared to some of the apparitions you see at English Bay in Vancouver or at Ashbridge's in Toronto every summer, Paul's positively svelte.  :)

The story is about two different people trying to organise festivals to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the concert in June. Does anyone have any other colour pictures of this gig?

Um, I think his mother was half his problem. The other half being his father...or lack thereof.

"According to Manson, his mother, allegedly a heavy drinker, once sold him for a pitcher of beer to a childless waitress, from whom his uncle retrieved him some days later."

Have you heard of Roman Polanski? The Beatles?

Manson and his Family go way beyond US life. The people murdered and their families were not all Americans and some of them were quite well known the world over. Plus, it's a pretty big thing in Beatle history.

Besides all that, this was a HORRIFIC and very bizarre event. The kind that usually attracts world attention. And no, I was not around when it actually happened, but it's been talked about ad nauseam pretty much every year since it's happened.

I agree with pc about the sheltered thing.

Why should I know about the US life so much?  :-/ Roman Polanski and The Beatles are different things, they are culture, my American friend! If I started asking you questions about the Russian life, would you know a thing? While I do know a thing or two about America. If he goes in Beatle history, I admit I don`t know it, but I haven`t been a fan as long as you have, you have had more time to accumulate all the information. And there`s nothing to be ashamed of. Where is it talked about? Not here, not on the news I`ve heard of. I believe it must have been mentioned, but not so many times as in the USA. Why do you think that what happens in the USA must be of such overwhelming interest to other countries of the world? All the people I`ve asked so far do not know this name. But they all were not around (born yet) when it happened. The sheltered thing depends on which side ot the shelter you stand, maybe it`s vice versa.  :P

Apparently you didn't understand A WORD I said. It goes beyond US culture and you didn't have to be born at the time to be aware of it. And I'd thank you not to put words in my mouth again. I never said or implied that things that happen in the US must be "such overwhelming interest to other countries of the world." I'm speaking of this event and this event alone. Manson's name has become synonymous with evil. The world over. Read a newspaper or something. It's like saying who the hell is Jack the Ripper. Why should I know who that is? I'm not from England! I can't explain this any better and you're not going to get it anyway. You'll just continue to accuse me of being an arrogant American or something. So whatever.

Here, educate yourself. Pick up a newspaper or magazine. I'm pretty sure the Russian media has done a story or two about Manson. God knows they don't acknowledge their own serial killers. You are aware of Andrei Chikatilo no? ::)

Charles Manson - The Story That Stopped the World in it's Tracks

Few crimes literally strike fear and horror into the collective hearts of this world.  However the story of the Manson Family and specifically Charles Manson himself in 1969 managed to do exactly that
, with the brutal murder of the beautiful 26 year old actress, Sharon Tate, who was stabbed 51 times, 40 years ago.

At that time, Sharon was 8 months pregnant and living with husband Roman Polanski at 10050 Cielo Drive in Los Angeles.  Polanski escaped being murdered himself, as he was working in London with the intention of returning for the birth of their baby.

When he was notified of his wife's death, Polanski immediately flew back to the U.S., under heavy sedation.

I'm bringing this story to you now, on what will be the 40th anniversary (in August) of those killings, because today the cult and gang  mentality is becoming worse, not only in America, but in many countries.

Many youths today who have terrible home lives, brutalized, or living on the streets, are easily drawn into such groups, with catch phrases such as 'now you have a family to look out for you.'

Young people today, would probably only know about Manson if their parents had passed the story on to them and it's my personal opinion that they should know.  It's in their interest to find out how toxic such relationships can become, before they are indoctrinated.

Certainly, I've never seen a crime live on long past itself, with a long reach into the new millenium.

Victor Bugliosi was the prosecuter in the Manson case and eventually wrote a book that I and many thousands of people read, called "Helter Skelter."   I read it because the trial had become an enormous media circus and I wanted to find out exactly what did happen from the source - which was probably the same reason that many others read it.

Predictably, a movie was made from the book and I confess that I don't remember whether or not it was absolutely faithful to Bugliosi's book.

Sharon Tate was not the only victim to fall at the hands of 'The Family'. The death list included Jay Sebring; Wojciech (Voyteck) Frykowski; Steve Parent and Abilgail Folger (the coffee heiress.)

With the blood still fresh on their knives and perverted minds, they murdered Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, the following day.  Manson had hoped that these two murders would incite a race war, believing that it was prophesied by the Beatle's song - "Helter Skelter."

While sourcing this article, I was surprised to find that there is still a fansite dedicated to Sharon Tate by her sister, Debra Tate.  Somehow it seems fitting that if Manson and his cronies are still in the news, that this beautiful woman's life should be celebrated beyond their miserable existence.

F.A.C.T.net lists all the current cults of today and I must admit, I wasn't surprised to see Scientology listed, which I believe to be one of the most insidious cults of today.

Here is a synopsis of what happened on that fateful night when Sharon Tate and her friends were brutally murdered:

Manson sent the psycho posse out on their infamous errand.  Tex Watson, Pat Krenwinkle, Susan Atkins and Linda Kasabian (coz she was the only one with a driver's license) got in a 1959 Ford, and drove to the house on Cielo Drive.

They arrived around midnite.  Tex cut the phone lines, which landed on the gate.  They scaled the hillside behind the gate, for fear of electric shock.  Once on the other side, they encountered Steve Parent, 18, driving towards them in his white Rambler.

Parent was visiting William Garretson, the caretaker - and trying to sell him a radio.  Garretson was staying in the guest cottage, at the far end of the property.  Watson tells the girls to hide when the headlights head their way.  Tex held up his hand and ordered Parent to "HALT".

"Please don't hurt me, I won't say anything." were Steve's last words.  Bang bang bang bang.  Point blank distance.  Wrong place, wrong time. Big Time.

That was only the beginning of their killing spree - you can read more about that horrific night here if you're interested. Scroll down to the heading in capital letters - NEXT! on the left side.

Here are some of the latest known photographs of Sharon Tate.

Back in 1969, it seemed that Manson, or anything to do with him, was on the lips of the public - disbelief; shock; horror; anger and absolutely no acceptance.  The 'Family' were entirely devoted to Manson and that might have something to do with the fact that drugs were freely distributed and taken on the ranch where they lived.

Manson at his best, had an electric and charismatic nature.  Put that together with drugs and they loved him even more than they did when they arrived.

He still wears the swastika proudly carved into his forehead this day.

Today he has lost that charisma with age, looking old at 74 (pictured).  He still petitions for parole each time it comes up, but he is serving several consecutive life sentences and will not be paroled in his lifetime.

However, his next parole hearing will be in 2012 where I and millions of other people hope, that he'll be denied any kind of freedom again.  With any luck, the parole board will restate what they said at a parole hearing in 2007:

Despite his age, Manson "continues to pose an unreasonable danger to others and may still bring harm to anyone he would come in contact with," the board wrote in its denial.

Manson has had 12 disciplinary violations since his last parole hearing in 2002. He refused to take advantage of rehabilitation programs, and he would not participate in a psychiatric evaluation, Sequeira said.

"He refused to cooperate, so the conclusion they drew from the reports is he still remains a danger to the public," Sequeira said in a telephone interview. "He was convicted of nine horrible murders. He has expressed no remorse or empathy for any of the victims."

Manson was originally given the death penalty, but shortly after the trial, the state did away with the death penalty and he is now incarcerated for several consecutive lifetimes.

It is interesting to note here, the differences in the judicial system then - and now.  Because Manson was never actually at the murder sites and didn't personally commit any of the murders - it was clear through testimony by the rest of 'the family' that he had been the malevolent mastermind and power that sent them all out to commit the atrocities.

I suppose today, he would have been exonerated, due to 'circumstantial evidence' and he would have been free to add to his 'family' to kill again, and again, and again.

It's amazing how this story will not die. It became news again because of his recent parole hearing and the new movie that is currently out on DVD named: "The Six Degrees of Helter Skelter."

Am I missing something here? I don't understand why this aggressive attitude towards Jane. She's not heard of Charles Manson. So? The people she has asked haven't heard of Charles Manson either. So? It's a pretty big thing in Beatles history, and she still hasn't heard of him. So? My goodness, she might even be sheltered, and on top of that didn't take the suggestion to google before posting. This justifies such a venomous tone? I'm sorry, but it's not pretty to read.

Thanks -

Alexis, give me a break. You know her posting history. She's brought this tone on all by herself by being aggressive or condescending in her own posts.  There's only so much people are going to stand for before developing an attitude towards said poster. And I don't think I got "venomous" until she once again projected feelings/attitudes on me that I in no way implied in my previous post. And really, venomous? I mean come on. A little overreacting on your part I think. Sorry. We're all big boys and girls here. Not everything has to be coated with fake praise and smiley faces.

Instead of saying: Well, everybody knows about him, look it up...You chose to make fun of me and to be sarcastic.
Sandra, your post is not an innocent one. The questions that you wrote imply that I haven`t heard of R. Polanski and the Beatles. This is very hurtful, especially about the Beatles. Why did you write them? You know I "have heard" of The Beatles. Why ask such a question? And finish your post on the same note, making the conclusion about being sheltered. This is not very pleasant. Is it? If I asked you such a question you would answer back! And according to you I should have just remained silent. Swallowed it up.
I honestly wrote that I haven`t heard of C. Manson. I am not such a big girl as you are. I haven`t come across his name in the British and American press, though I read and translate a lot. Maybe it`s so far, maybe I just missed it or didn`t pay attention to it. But your post sounded like: Oh, you haven`t heard of him? How ignorant! And have you heard of The Beatles? Of R. Polanski? Very sheltered! And I was supposed to shut up.

Again putting words into my mouth. You infer a lot from one post. Being called sheltered isn't necessarily an insult. Some people do grow up a bit sheltered. So what? And pc threw that one out. I just happened to agree. Where's your aggression towards him? As for my comments, Jane, it's called sarcasm and sometimes grown ups use it with each other. The trick is, not to get so offended that you act like a child and  play the "you started it" game. My first post was mild. Look at your own post then accusing me of being ethnocentric. Even after I explained why I feel this story is known throughout the world. Which you never acknowledged of course. So if you're prepared to throw stuff like that out, then be prepared to get some back. Like Swine said and others before him, stop playing the victim. You're no innocent.

I should have stuck to my self imposed rule of never responding to your posts because we always seem to disagree, but I went against my better judgment. So yeah, I claim responsibility for this one. I was a baaaad girl.

Oh, Sandra, Sandra! What a nice post, very friendly. Thank you.
I never accused you of anything. If you think I put words in your mouth, look, you are doing the same thing but to a greater extent. And you are accusing me of aggressiveness, while I am just open and honest. And get hurt for that. May be because you are used to the famous doublespeak and duplicity, well, I am not.
I called you - my American friend, and you admitted being sarcastic and wrote: I should have stuck to my self-imposed rule of never responding to your posts. Is it friendly? This is most unfriendly, I never said such words to you. So be a good girl.

Oh cut it out Jane, you accuse all the time. Everyone is having a go at you aren't they? And you don't provoke it do you? I think it's time to stop your little games. You've got your little fan base now, so give it a rest.

And don't say you don't understand, that one doesn't work anymore.

I'm no fan, if that was what you meant, BM. But that doesn't mean I want to join a "Pound the Poster on the Head!" club, either. Each of us gets something out of the forum. For some of us it seems that includes getting their kicks by getting aggressive with people who rub them the wrong way, instead of just moving on to the next post.  For some posters, it has become part of their forum personality and identity, at least in my mind.

And if it isn't what you meant, so sorry, that's a character fault I'm working on. Carly Simon would have written that line about me if she'd known me  ("... I bet you think this song is about you"). No sarcasm intended here, BTW!

I'd post a piccie if I knew how ...

Thanks -

BM, well, you mean I got it right, but Sandra said I didn`t get it?

Read my first post. It was only one sentence: I don`t know who C. M. was. Innocent post, too honest, admitting the fact of MY not knowing it, not expecting any sarcasm.
Read Sandra`s post: And do you know who The Beatles were? And the rest... Isn`t it unpleasant? So, I should have shut up and swallowed it up. Tell me. And I don`t have any base here, you are wrong, but you do support each other.
And now, again, I was supposed not to say anything. And I am not playing any games, just too open. Next time I will be less frank.

i am sorry this post that way...when i said jane was sheltered i meant that someone kept the news of evil from her...i did not mean it in a derogatory sense, because if i could keep my kids from knowing how horrible the world can be,i would in a heartbeat...this world is a freak show and we all know it....some of us have gotta be crazy raising kids in this society...jane is not at fault that she doesn't know about charlie...neither are the reasons she doesn't know...sometimes i could do without knowledge of that kind.....i wasn't picking on jane...i love jane...in a friendly sort of way ;)...i see more than a few things in perspective as she does...we are similar in more than a few ways....sondra wasn't really persecuting jane just informing her...teaching....for my money if sondra were raising a child it would know what it was up against in this world....she is gonna be a good mother someday...and she already is a great teacher, noble profession...giving and caring...i love you too.. ;)
and alex...i love you too because you acted as a knight does defending a ladies honour and reputation...if not her very being...you sir are a gentleman and i hope you live one thousand years... 8) and please pass that on with you kids...and rick the mediator...thanks we love you too....and now for songs...for janie...yW1O1s4ihMg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW1O1s4ihMg)

Hi Jane - I think it's really all just a Communication Breakdown. We're probably all nice people inside, or at least try to be. Different backgrounds, languages, etc. - bound to result in some problems here and there.

By the way, (and I'm almost hyperventilating here) - here's the youtube code for the above clip - " S-Jne9rjhnI " . Now is this freaky or what? Look at it closely ... it's an abbreviation - : "Jane, #9, John"! I mean, how freaky is that!!!

Yes, thanks, I did! Just pointing out that it seems like it could get uncomfortable (and noisy!) to have the head of the bed right up against the radiator. Such a posh place, I'd think they would have put the radiator on the back wall or something. OK, I'll focus on more meaningful things now ...

If you guys are talking about Yoko's personality, then I understand. If you're talking about her looks though, I think that's mean. John may have been above that. Would it have been cooler if he ended up with some brainless supermodel type? I think he was beyond that. Same with Paul who married the plain girl next door type. Look what happened to him when he went the model route.

Ludwig does that every so often.  Several years ago, they had the limited edition L8024LX Classic Maple Fab 4 set for $2149

Nice to see it back.

There's a book Beatle Gear, which may describe his kit, I've got it at home, will have to check.

But briank doesn't put much stock in the accuracy of that book.

Hi!  :) I`ve studied all the cowboys, what a wide choice! There`s something to choose from! We can call them all photos of the night. So it wasn`t off topic. However, the best cowboys were our male-posters with their sparkling wit culminating in American illumination with HelloGoodbye greetings. The needed touch!

OK...listen up folks and b****y snipers....This is a fine line of moderating we tread on these forums. I have always imagined how someone like Ringo or Paul could be stumbling upon this Beatle site (My admin style). I'm sure they would be absolutely repelled by the baiting and biting that goes on here. Interesting debate yes! Derogatory remarks on an endless tap NO!

I couldn't give 2 flying F's about translation, interpretation etc. This forum reads English and therefore is responded in English. If this presents a challenge Jane I am sorry. I believe you are very clever with your words but you are obviously causing distress to quite a few people and I am afraid it's all about the PEOPLE not one person looking for popularity.

I do not like to see anyone hounded off these forums without good cause (Especially when 1 person is on a gunning mission) but it's like watching over schoolkids lately. It's all very well Bobber and I being diplomatic and liberal but we have no reserve to start making changes here if necessary. It's quite simple really. Hopefully, we are not forced into such action.

Addendum - http://www.beatlesfabgear.com/

It does have stuff devoted to Ringo's kit, i.e., "In 196blah he upgraded to a 21" kick...", etc., etc.

Can't vouch for the accuracy, but briank has some problems with it.

But nice pics - guitars too!

Drawings of Beatles and Lennon discovered in Al Hirschfeld archives
Rarely seen drawings of the Beatles from 1964 and John Lennon (circa 1968 ) created by legendary artist Al Hirschfeld are
now available for viewing and purchase. Al Hirschfeld, who for 80 years had his drawings exhibited throughout the world, passed away in early 2003 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the art world. His works were featured in publications such as the New York Times, TV Guide, the New Yorker, Rolling Stone and countless others. His art is on exhibition at the Smithsonian, the National Portrait Gallery, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum, The Museum of Modern Art and many other museums and institutions in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Now six years after his passing, the Hirschfeld Estate has authorized a series of six never-before published limited edition Hirschfeld drawings featuring Classic Rock icons highlighted by images of The Beatles and John Lennon. Other Classic Rockers comprised in the series of drawings include Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton and Crosby, Stills & Nash. The Classic Rock Suite is published by Celebrity Arts. The edition is limited to only 100 numbered copies and includes the Hirschfeld Estate Seal. Hirschfeld's first ever drawing of the Beatles, created in May 1964 just three months after the Beatles arrival in the United States, is one of the highlights of the Classic Rock Suite. Another favorite is Hirschfeld's 1968 drawing of John Lennon. The original of this piece hung in Hirschfeld's studio for decades. David Leopold, Hirschfeld archivist, comments, "We went on an extensive search to find perfect images for the new posthumous releases from Mr. Hirschfeld. The Classic Rock images that we selected are spectacular and capture everything that is great about Hirschfeld."

October 9 should have marked the 69th birthday of Beatles legend John Lennon. That did not stop the Lunar Geographic Society giving him a present. They named a crater on the Moon in his honor.

The John Lennon Peace Crater is located on the Earthside of the Moon. It is six kilometres wide and 990 metres deep. Aim your telescope towards 37.0o North (latitude) and 25.8o East (longitude) to see it.

The crater was formerly known as Daniell D and is part of the Daniell crater group, named after John Frederic Daniell (1790-1845). It rests appropriately in the heart of the Moon’s Lake of Dreams.

John Lennon joins a very rare group who have been bestowed with the similar honor. Leonardo da Vinci, Christopher Columbus, Jules Verne, Sir Isaac Newton and Julius Caesar are a few of the big names who also have craters named after them.

Shannon honored as official painting of Lennon birthday celebration

Liverpool -- 13 May 2010 -- Starting this month, a celebration will start in Liverpool, England for the countdown of the most anticipated birthday/memorium for the most celebrated man in the history of Rock and Roll. John Lennon would have been 70 years old on October 9, 2010. On December 8, 2010, it will be 30 years since we said a sudden heartfelt goodbye to him.

From October 9th to December 8th a celebration of life will take place throughout the world and on December 9th, musical stars of all eras will unite on stage when the John Lennon tribute season closes with a unique and emotional charity concert finale "Lennon Remembered," at Echo Arena.

Beatles Artist Shannon has had her most famously recognized image of John Lennon elected as the official backdrop for this concert. "The Seven Faces of John" was painted by Shannon in 1997. It will be updated with two new Lennon images especially for this celebration to coincide with the number 9. The number 9 represents many things Lennon including his songs "Revolution Number 9" and "Number 9 Dream", his birthday, and the date of this massive celebration.

In 1996 Shannon was flown to Liverpool, England to meet the Lord Mayor and was officially titled and declared The World's Greatest Beatles Artist. When asked how she felt about the title she simply said, "The whole world? Amazing! Thank you." Since then she has received the title, Official Artist of The Cavern Club and last year she was inducted into The Cavern Hall of Fame.

A monument dedicated to John Lennon will be built in Liverpool as part of a global peace movement.

The statue will be presented to The Beatles Story by Lennon's son Julian as part of the city’s two-month event commemorating the former Beatle’s 70th birthday and the 30th anniversary of his murder.

The 18ft artwork has been commissioned by California-based organisation Global Peace Initiative and 19-year-old American artist Lauren Voiers will create the piece, which aims to celebrate both the musician and his message of peace.

The metal monument, which will incorporate a white feather within its design after a request from 47-year-old Julian, will be unveiled in October and will be sited in a prominent city centre location yet to be agreed.

The Beatles Story managing director Jerry Goldman said: “New York has the Imagine mosaic in Strawberry Fields and it attracts hoards of people.

“The Global Peace Initiative wants to create a peace monument on every continent and it was well down the road on its monument for Europe, which was designed to go to the site of the Berlin Wall.

“When I asked if it could design one for us, it said the concept it was working on could not be more appropriate for Liverpool and John Lennon.”

The John Lennon peace monument will be the second in a series of monuments commissioned by Global Peace Initiative.

The organisation's aim is to spread artistic symbols of peace across the globe, with the first statue presented to the President of Singapore on behalf of the people of Asia in 2005.

It is hoped the Liverpool monument will complement the memorial in New York, acting as a place of pilgrimage for people wanting to remember one of the world’s most influential icons.

Artist Lauren said: “My art has always been influenced by the ideals of peace and harmony and it is a great honour to spread this message across Europe through my sculpture.

“The fact it will be located in Liverpool, the home town of such a music legend, is phenomenal.”

Ben Valenty, director of Global Peace Initiative, added: “We were searching for an appropriate location for the second Global Peace monument for some time.

“The creativity and history which surrounds Liverpool make it an ideal destination for Europe’s art piece.”

The

Booo. I thought Britain had stayed clear of this nonsense. A statue of a rock and roller is okay, but please, not a peace thingy. Britain generally has a totally different view of Lennon than the Americans. - here he's seen as a loopy drug taking musician who wrote some great tunes. That's enough surely.
Here's a deal - California keeps its Global Peace Initiative Lennonisms where they belong (ie California) and we'll publically execute Liam Gallagher and Robbie Williams. Hands across the water my arse. Sometimes we're meant to be different you know.

I support Global Peace Initiative. We are of the same view as Americans are. Speaking out for peace is positive and has always been topical, though some people may find it dull. I wonder why? For some strange reason they believe that it would have been better to remain inarticulate. John`s anti-war message was and is well-known all over the world. Its impact and later its lasting effect is great and miraculously still matters. Otherwise people would have forgotten about it. But they do remember.
John marched for peace in AMERICA, he didn`t belong to Britain at that time. Thus the British thoughts on the subject are just part of the perception of the whole issue - (my answer to Kevin). Actually John is much more American, and even global. Fantastic he managed it!
Title: Re: Photo Of The Day

IJohn marched for peace in AMERICA, he didn`t belong to Britain at that time.

Exactly. And Americans can knock themselves out building statues of a drug addled rock star who spent three years of his life (there's dedication and commitment for yoy) sitting in bags and beds banging on about peace as part of some "Gobal Peace Initiative." And let's face it, such a futile gesture seems sort of appropriate for a man who though world peace could be advanced by posting acorns. I just kind of hoped good old British cynicism would stop it happening here.
Though I do understand how icons work. No one (I think) would say that Marilyn Munroe was the greatest actress of her time, but she is iconic for what she represents. And I know so it is with Lennon in most of the world. But here he's an ex Beatle who buggered off to the US, not some Ghandi reincarnate. Thank God.

Just had a gander at Lennon's chart positions. There must be some irony that his "political" songs and album (STINYC) all did much better in the UK than the US, while the reverse is true for his "normal" songs and albums. It seems the reality was that at the time most Americans preferred their Lennon a la Strawberry Fields, all dreamy and ambiguous (sp), while the Brits liked him a little anngrier. Grrrrrrrrr.
What a funny world in which we live.

Some very rare pics here from the Liverpool Echo:

Rare Beatles images revealed in exhibition of Astrid Kirchherr’s work at Liverpool University’s Victoria Gallery & Museum

Photographs on display will include, of course, images of the Beatles in Hamburg in the 1960s, alongside shots of Astrid’s home and family, and photos of the Cavern, Liverpool and its people.

There’s also a rare image, believed never to have been seen before, of Paul, George and Ringo on holiday in Tenerife in 1963, when they stayed in a chalet at La Montañeta owned by Klaus Voormann’s doctor father.

Astrid Kirchherr: A Retrospective is at the Victoria Gallery & Museum in Brownlow Hill from August 25-January 29.

WOW! and is that a rare picture of Stuart Sutcliffe???

This happens when you try to post a picture as an attachment to your post. It's better and easier to post the picture in the post itself, using the [ img ] and [ /img ] things.

OK, I've been trying to upload this photo, or even post the link, for nearly an hour and I'm getting really frustrated! Giving it one last try because it's a cute photo.

My hometown newpaper ran a Peeps sculpture contest. One of the entries (which is currently winning, according to the online vote tally) is a mock-up of the Abbey Road cover.

Love it! BTW, I am from NY too. We used to make the long trip to the state fair when my daughter was in the 4H dog club. One of our dogs got loose one time but she didn't get too far before she hit the food concessions and that's how they caught her.  ;D

A lot of people were there.  It was a good place to have a concert...

Must have been a familiair sight for Cynthia. Taking a ferry cross the Mersey, like I did two weeks ago when I took this pic.
