.....a mole...a beauty mark as you said, Sondra.  With his bangs, you never saw it when he was younger.

Thank god. I was ready to start hating Yoko again for contaminating him! I just always assumed it was a mole like Cindy Crawford's. It suits him either way.

I saw it. But then, I have an unhealthy fascination with his face! His and Paul's. I know their faces better than my own.

Yes, indeed you do.  Well, I should have known better with a girl like you.   ;)

John remains unsullied.

October 9 should have marked the 69th birthday of Beatles legend John Lennon. That did not stop the Lunar Geographic Society giving him a present. They named a crater on the Moon in his honor.

The John Lennon Peace Crater is located on the Earthside of the Moon. It is six kilometres wide and 990 metres deep. Aim your telescope towards 37.0o North (latitude) and 25.8o East (longitude) to see it.

The crater was formerly known as Daniell D and is part of the Daniell crater group, named after John Frederic Daniell (1790-1845). It rests appropriately in the heart of the Moon’s Lake of Dreams.

John Lennon joins a very rare group who have been bestowed with the similar honor. Leonardo da Vinci, Christopher Columbus, Jules Verne, Sir Isaac Newton and Julius Caesar are a few of the big names who also have craters named after them.
