Do you remember when you were a kid , you were hit for asking questions David ? yes i remember , " just ask why once more and i will bloody kill you " . Mum had a funny way of showing love
But did it stop me questioning the world , the answer is a big fat no
. So though i feel a little afraid to voice my response , i think it's time to face Sgt. Pepper's linch - mob
First off i love the album , i don't think it's there best , but it's in my top three . I asked the question because it as always puzzled me why there is no real love song? although i agree they allude to love , in a spiritual way and a comical way " lovely Rita " is just so funny
And as i thought i had explained there is a narative to the album ? which i have always read as a kind of surreal exploration of bereavement eg. losing a child , fear of getting old , John's mind blowing apocalypse as told in " A Day In The Life "
So i have always thought it odd that the drugs did'nt lead them to question love in a kind of off - kilter way , i did say i was'nt looking for a mushy love song ?
A strange love song would have done just fine . It was not my intention to come across as someone who thinks this album is lacking in anyway, it is not it's a masterpiece .
I was just asking a question and i don't need it socked to me , just explained . Lovely response harihead i value your wisdom and a hug would be nice
Great discussion though .
I'm just a bit of an odd fish this pisces tends to come at things from leftfield and you can't get more leftfield than The Beatles , thats why i love them
Lights up another joint and waits for a response
