Well, I got to see the show in Vegas on Christmas Eve. It was awesome! I loved it. It makes me appreciate the album a little more that's for sure. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to go. It's amazing what they do. I can't even explain it, you just have to see it. I loved the way they incorporated the Beatles themselves into it too by putting together whole conversations from little snippets of studio chatter and interviews. They did it so flawlessly that they really sounded like actual conversations. They would also project their silhouettes onto the stage and have them walk around. It was very cool. The entire production was outstanding.
The theater was great too! From the moment you walk up they are blasting Beatles music, the floor is lit up and they've got this huge Beatles store right there. Everyone is either dressed up as an English guard with the big hats, a Sgt. Pepper guy or a meter maid. They all have to speak with fake British accents too! That was funny cuz they were pretty bad. This is all on the outside before you go into the theater. They also have a Beatles lounge at the other end of the casino called The Revolution Lounge. It's an interactive lounge. They have these huge letters REVOLUTION with seats inside the letters! There's a bar on the outside called the Abbey Road Bar and on the other side are portholes that project trippy Beatles images. They've also got Beatles music blaring for much of the day. Anyway, I was in Beatle heaven this week. Other than that, Las Vegas looks really crowded and ridiculous. I hadn't been there in years, so it was weird seeing how much it built up. It's insane. Probably what hell will be like except you'll be surrounded by Elvis impersonators and Wayne Newton music 24 hours a day for all of eternity.
These aren't my pics, I didn't take any, but I thought they were cool so here they are:
The entrance to the LOVE Theater. The box office is on the left, the Beatles Shop is on the right then it goes into the concession area where everyone is dressed up. The floor and some of the wall decorations change color and they've got Beatles music blasting all day. It was like Beatles overload for the senses.

A little further in. Everyone was taking pictures in front of the jumping Beatle's image.

Sounds FAB Sandra, you lucky girl. Maybe they'll tour it in Europe sometime. Saw the Cirque in Copenhagen about 5 years ago. Pretty amazing stuff.

Yeah, it was amazing. I had never seen a Cirque show before and had NO idea that they would do half the stuff they did! At one point they covered almost the entire audience with a sheet then it mushroomed up perfectly and changed colors. That was Octupus's Garden. Amazing. I want to see it again because I know there's so much I missed! My favorite part was at the end when they had all these screens come down in mid-air and played All You Need is Love while showing clips of the boys over the years and confetti was falling from the sky. It was just awesome. Hopefully it will make a world tour eventually, but just the experience at the Mirage was worth going to Las Vegas for. I fixed the pics up there. I didn't know they weren't working. I wish I had actually taken some of my own!

Is a dvd of the show coming out in 2007?
-
^I think they'll wait till the show ends and then another year or so, nah? ??) ... it's the usual way >:( :-/
-
Well, Beatlesdays is expecting it:
Also expected is a DVD of the LOVE musical, hopefully with more footage of the mixing sessions with SIR GEORGE and GILES MARTIN, as used in the recent BBC documentary.
But we can expect a lot, I presume. We all know Apple isn't too keen on releasing a lot.

Certainly not on releasing a lot at the same time :-/ ... and they must know that we all are waiting for some interesting stuff for tooooo long now such Let It Be or Shea Studium >:( ... and if they're saying that for 2008 ::) ... but after this, I don't think this LOVE show DVD will delayed a lot 'cos it's a fresh thing now but, in a two year time or so who will be so interested? (fans like me, of course! ;D) ...

The only way they'll issue a DVD of Love this year is if the show is going to finish this year. It's counter productive to do otherwise.

Yep, and this is somehow a new busyNess for them ... they should think very well what to do

I'm leaving March 24th for Vegas to see it.

I'd rather have the cash if you don't mind ;D

You're gonna love it. I think. It's freaking awesome. You have to go to the lounge afterwards too. Make it a Beatles night. They've got other Beatles shows going on too all over the place, but I couldn't talk my family into seeing any of it. Maybe you know cooler people and can make a Beatles week of it. That would have been my plan! Enjoy!
-
Sandra, thank you for this fabulous report! I will not go Las Vegas for any reason, but I'm glad to get your report. I hope the show comes to Denver someday. Cheers.
-
Blimey Sandra - I only just spotted this!!!! I am SO jealous!!! I would absolutely LOVE to go - I hope it will be a permanent feature in Vegas as it will be a few years before I wil be able to afford to go!!!

I'm sure I read somewhere that it finishes at Christmas.

Alan. You MET Paul McCartney, spoke to him, AND shook his HAND. You are NOT allowed to be jealous of anybody for any reason for at least five to ten years. That's final!
But yeah, you'd love the show. I'm sure it will last. I don't think they'll close it down as long as it's making money. The Mirage seems to have invested A LOT into this show and I'm sure they plan on it being around for quite some time. I mean, you don't open a high tech, interactive, Beatles themed bar, Beatles store equipped with a Hofner bass signed by all four Beatles on display and a Beatles theater if the show is gonna close after Christmas.
-
Thanks Sandra - I'm a lot happier now! ;D
-
I'm so happy that you're happy. :D

Me too!! Erm... does that even make sense?!! ;D

If you wanna see it, you'll have to go to Vegas. I mean, the show won't be on dvd. That's what Neil Aspinall said, for what it's worth. Quoted: "The Mirage doesn

Las Vegas always gives the best show around and the secluded experience.
Vegas Happy Hour (http://www.nikkibeachlasvegas.com/parties/vegas-happy-hour/)

I saw it 2 years ago. It was absolutely incredible. I loved every second of it. Definitely worth a trip to Vegas for. I'm talking with a friend of mine about going sometime in the next few months. She hasn't seen it yet, and I'd love to see it again. Absolutely brilliant show.
-
If you are on this site, you gotta go. Bucket list for sure.
I've been twice, first time was in Vegas for a conference and got a single seat and almost wept.
Second time was in Vegas with my family (wife, 5 kids, my parents) and took them all and wept.
Incredible show.
-
My grammy got to go two times! She said it was very good and she really enjoyed it :) I really wish that I could go see it though.
-
I have been 3 times and frankly I can't wait to get back there and see it again! Every time I go I see or hear something different than the time before. I also noticed that depending on where you are seated, the experience and perspective can change.
Has anyone else enjoyed this show as much as I have? I love the bald guy who walks around before the show and blows smoke on peoples heads! And watching the same guy in that little VW bug during the show..... I don't know.... maybe it's just me but I think the show is outstanding.
-
Love it. Saw it by myself while at conference in Vegas. Took family and parents for their 50th anniversary a few years later (9 of us)!
Can't wait to go again.

Awww. I did do a search but didn't find that thread, which in hindsight was a little surprising. Ok then.

No worries.

I have heard nothing but great things about this show. Several people I know have seen it and said they thought about me. I must have a reputation or something. LOL Maybe someday I'll get to see it. The soundtrack might make more sense to me after!
-
I have a good friend who has seen it several times and loves the show. He has invited me to go with him but I always decline. It cost me $4.75 to see the Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl in 65 and $6 to see then at Dodger Stadium in 66. The idea of spending $150 to watch people dance to Beatles songs just doesn't seem right to me somehow. I know it is my loss but I can think of so many other things that $150 could buy me.

My daughters are going to get a chance to see this show next spring on their school band trip. I'm half-tempted to volunteer to chaperone the trip just so I can see it, too. It was playing last time we were in Vegas, but we couldn't afford to go. I'm envious of them. :)
-
Yes. Highly recommend it to anyone, even if not a big fan.
An absolutely fantastic show.

Look for a 'time share' tour for free tickets upon completion. We had to ask for 'love' specifically, but got great seats.
We had to sit through a 3.5 (or so) hr presentation on timeshares, but the show was amazing & well worth it.
Wouldn't think twice about doing it again if given the chance.

They're all good shots but that second really is great. My heart would be pounding out of my chest as I approached the Mirage! Maybe someday...

When I win the lottery you're all invited. It's the least I can do.

By all means; please keep playing! Wouldn't that be a blast? :)

my wife's family is having a reunion between Christmas and New Years this year. None are huge Beatle fans but we are doing the reunion in Vegas (our kids enjoy vegas and it is actually where our time share is located) so we have booked 11 of us to see the Love show. Will be my 3rd time, can't wait. It stays on my bucket list despite having seen it. "Love" how that works.
-
11 days away from the show! Getting excited all over again.

Getting excited all over again.
I would be, too! Enjoy! :)

Have a great time!

Show was last night, amazing again.
Did have a first though, during Octopus' Garden the central character on the floor had her netting costume get caught in the elevated floor as it lowered back down. She couldn't leave that spot and multiple actors on stage tried to pull it free. She had an areal part but could not leave the stage. Towards the end of the song the lift the section of floor slightly and she was able to get free and walk off.
Never had noticed any mistakes during the performances before last night. Guess it happens though.
Still am overwhelmed mostly by Something, just beautiful the way they interpret it.
-
I'm glad it continues to amaze you! I hope it stays long enough for me to get there and see it. It's definitely on my bucket list.
-
sad news, Love in the Mirage is ending July 7th
Go before the curtain closes for the last time, you will not regret it

My daughters saw it in 2016 and loved it.
I just took another massive tax hit and likely will not be able to get to Vegas to see it before it's gone. :(
