I may have had something wrong in my ears, but some time ago they were playing this song somewhere and I thought it was from the 1960's:

New Kids On The Block - Tonight


I was surprised when I discovered that it was a song by the New Kids On The Block (!) from 1990.

Sounds like a cross between ELO and 1970s Bee Gees to me.

You may be right. My impression was just after a casual listening. However, I find a slight 60's feeling in the last part, from 2:49 till the end, with that harpsichord, light orchestration and the "la la la la la la tonight" vocals fading out.

These are certainly 1960's inspired songs. I especially liked the first one.

I now remember this song from 1999 that made me think of "Tomorrow Never Knows":
