Paul's next U. S. tour could bomb.
« on: January 27, 2005, 01:54:55 PM »

I think Paul's next U. S. tour later this year could slightly bomb because the original Beatles fans in the 60's are a whole lot older while today's young people aren't too interested these days in McCartney the music legend & former Beatle sadly in this age of Nelly & Ashlee Simpson.  BTW, I think the Stones are in the same situation as well.

Right now on UK radio they're advertising a concert with (wait for it) David Cassidy, Bay City Rollers and The Osmunds. And the buggers sold out.
I think Paul will be Ok (he went down a storm at Glastonbury)

I'm surprised the Osmonds, David Cassidy & the Bay City Rollers won't be touring in the U. S. since the females in my age group who grew up in the 70's with them on their walls & such along with generations of fans wold probably sellout here.  I hope Paul does sellout lots of shows during his next U. S. tour even though I have to admit it's probably not going to be as easy this time around personally speaking.

Yes.  Most young people of today are more into Justin Timberlake than Donny Osmond & Paul.

I doubt he'll have any worries. Macca has still the magnetism to pull in the crowd.

I think it's mostly 50/50 for Paul when it comes to his next U. S. tour being as popular as his last four.

You could be right about being as equally popular. You could be wrong....I doubt it will bomb though.

I really dont think Paul will have any problems selling tickets for his next tour. It may well be his last tour and thats how i'm going to approach it. My only problem is deciding if to take my kids or not. I probably will.

I always think Paul will tour as long as he can hold out.

I think tickets will sellout faster than usual if Paul announces during his Super Bowl halftime show that this will be his last U. S. tour.  BTW, I think most fans are approaching it as possibly his last anyway.

I would consider it a POSITIVE thing that most young people today are not interested in Donny Osmond.

He's more talented than Justin Timberlake ever could be as an artist & performer by comparison.

I think Donny's Ok. He just does his thing-never tries to be anyone but himself.
His agent once suggested that he invent a drug problem to make himself more hip and he refused.
Music sucks tho' (of course)

I think One Bad Apple, Down By The Lazy River & Yo Yo by the Osmond. Bros. are masterpieces of teen popdom & are much better than anything by the Backstreet Boys & N'Sync.  Donny looks like a John Lennon & Bob Dylan these days compared with the current crop of teen idol crap but he's an average singer & great performer who's still around.
