What a cruel question!

Ok I'll plump for We Can Work it Out. That great marriage of Paul verse and John bridge.

From a technical standpoint, Yesterday is the best song on that list of #1s.  Imagine how much better it would have been if Paul wrote it while he was awake!   ;D

My favorite, however, is We Can Work It Out.

Interesting that looking at the list, We Can Work it Out appears to be the last substantial Lennon/McCartney collaboration.

Every single past that date can be better characterised as John's or Paul's (or George's).

My favourite 45 would probably be considered the weakest by many, 'Lady Madonna'/'The Inner Light'. I can't say why.
And for me 'The Ballad of John & Yoko' has leapfrogged over some of its more illustrious companions over the years.

I've never been wildly enthusiastic for either 'Can't Buy Me Love' or 'Get Back' (prefer the B-sides), though I still like them considerably more than any number one since 1969.
Does the pop chart/Top 40 still exist?

Yeah, but I don't really know anything that's on it!

It's still 'I Feel Fine' for me. Typifies their inventiveness and great energy. Can still give me goosebumps.

'Something' for me, closely followed by 'Hey Jude' and 'Ticket To Ride'. But I think they're all amazing, except for 1, 10, 15, 18 and 22.

That would be my pick, too, and for the same reasons.

My favorite #1 is "Ticket to Ride".

Great vocal.
Great guitars.
Great drumming.
Great fade-out.
