Oasis is only better if you're looking for some nice guitar sounds.

Overall, Coldplay would be my choice. I think their songs are more interesting.

Oasis.  I hate Coldplay.  Oasis has some good songs but can get repetitive.  "Don't Look Back in Anger" and "f***ing in the Bushes" are awesome

It's just nice to see that 2 of the biggest bands in the world come from the "UK" at the moment!

Oasis. Easily.

I bought Coldplay's first album because I liked the first two singles (Yellow and Trouble). I still like these two songs, but I didn't like the rest of the album at all, and I don't like any of the singles their released ever since either.

Tough one really.  Both have two outstanding records (Definitely Maybe and WTSMG for Oasis and Parachutes and ROBTTH for Coldplay)  so I guess time will tell.  Oasis fell off the horse with Be Here Now but have improved mightily since then, though I still don't think they've released anything as good as their first two since then.

Coldplay is a work in progress though, as I said earlier.  I would have to give the edge to Coldplay because I think Martin can actually sing as opposed to Liam.  I always felt Oasis would have been even better had they had a good singer or if Noel had done the duties himself.

Coldpay then...

and Oasis is awesome too, they had Morning Glory, but they rip off bands

I think Liams got one of THE voices of rock and roll at the moment. As a Beatle person I prefer Oasis songs - its fun picking out the Beatle songs that lurk inside.

I really liked Parachutes - very early Radiohead. But Rush is just depressing and very familiar sounding! I think they've run out of ideas already - anyway, we'll soon find out as their new album is out soon.

I've heard the new Oasis single (due out in May) and it sounds exactly like a Rolling Stones track - I can't remember which one but I'll check later! Well at least they've stopped ripping off Beatles tunes! Again, I prefer their earlier material too.

I loved their first 2 obviously, but i didnt think Be Here Now was that bad.  everyone always knocks it, but its a good album.  Theeir b-side singles collection The Masterplan is incredible.  Dont they have a new album due out soon, seems like its been awhile for them.

Doesn't matter what you think. They were still influenced by them bigtime and a lot of people hear certain similarities. Give Floyd some credit for being at least one bands inspiration.

I heard that a few times, how Radiohead was influenced by Floyd and share similarities.

I personally can't here it, but I guess Radiohead does have that mellow-thing going on.

It's like Oasis and the Beatles, they don't 'sound' like them, but you can tell how largely influenced they were by them in the way that they will lift little things here and there from the Beatles or try to be lyrically similiar in style and sound etc. Same thing with Radiohead. Of course they don't sound like Floyd! Who could? But if you listen you can hear little things here and there that have been lifted from Floyd. Even the feel of the albums or attention to lyrics. Of course they're their own thing, but you can tell Floyd was a big influence.
