My favorite period of the Beatles is during the late 60's with their longer hair, outspoken attitude with their back to basics rock & roll approach which had more edge to it more so than their early 60's pop & the pomp & circumstance of Sgt. Pepper.

I'd have to say 1962 to 1967.

Paul solo 84-87... after the infectious singalong of 'We All Stand Together' and the cinematic tour-de-force of 'Broad Street', two of his greatest triumphs as an artist... it only went downhill from there. I would have wanted him to keep it up. I like Ringo solo in 1978 as well
