Should've been on the BLUE Album

Which songs do you think should have been included on the Blue Album compilation (1967-1970)?

Concerning The Red Album, I'm still baffled that Good Day Sunshine was left off.

Concerning the Blue Album: Though I like all the songs you listed, I think Got to Get You into My Life though released in 1965, should have been put on one of the two albums.... It's tough to say because all the existing cuts on the blue album are very strong.. It's almost a sin that one band can have so many great songs on two double albums, it's almost unfair.

If we're talking about classics... it would be "Blackbird" ...or maybe "Oh! Darling".
If we're talking about chart positions... well, of course, "For You Blue". But that's a little bizarre...

For catchy songs, I think Maxwell's Silver Hammer (an album cut) should have been included.  Catchy, as opposed to gloomy songs like Old Brown Shoe (which I've grown to like, but for average fans, Maxwell would have fit the bill better).

Old Brown Shoe is gloomy?

I never understood the inclusion of Old Brown Shoe. It was never really a remarkable tune, and if they were hoping to convince neophytes that George songs were good too, well, this did not accomplish that.

I agree with Mairi, Old Brown Shoe never was one of thier well known tracks.

Bluesy tune, not really upbeat.  I always associate 'gloomy' with 'bluesy.'  Could be "just me."

"Blackbird," for sure. "Julia," "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End," and "Glass Onion" probably would have fit on a "best of" type album as well.

Remember that the Blue album came out only three years after the breakup. Including obscure b sides that folk who bought the albums wouldn't have was a ploy to make you part with your money. And George was probably keen for the royalties.
Including swathes of the White album, which was barely five years old, would have been marketting madness.

Still gutted that Blackbird was left out.

Old brown shoe is a great song!

I voted for Helter Skelter.  One of the boys best and heaviest sounding jams.
