Come And Get It was recorded by The Iveys in September 1969 prior to guitarist Ron Griffiths leaving the group.  He was replaced by Joey Molland and the group's name was changed to Badfinger.

During the recording session, Ron Griffiths was given a chance to record the lead vocal...

That's Paul McCartney at the end saying "We'll let you know, Ron, who's better."

Pete Ham had a go at the lead vocal too but the tape went missing.

I don't know, Moog.  He was married and his wife was expecting a child when he departed The Iveys.  I guess he just didn't fit in.

I think. All in all. When all is said and done..

Badfinger's hair was truly an awesome thing to behold.

I'm sure their brains got less radiation than the rest of us purely from the amazing hair density they enjoyed.

I think I read somewhere that Ringo gave them the over sized drum set that Ludwig gave him for the Hello Goodbye promo film. It can be briefly seen in the Sgt. pepper outfit version of the films during the middle eight with cellos.

Dave, Ringo's oversized set was a Ludwig Silver Sparkle set with a 28 x 14 bass-drum, 20 x 18 floor tom, 16 x 11 rack tom, and 20-inch snare.

Mike Gibbins' set is a 22" Ludwig Black Oyster Pearl set...

I've always liked Badfinger and feel a sense of sorrow over how Pete and Tom decided that suicide was the best option to cure their emotional suffering. They were royally screwed over by their manager and I have often thought it a travesty that Apple didn't provide for them better financially.

They were a really good band and their story is a sad one. To be fair they'd left Apple well before all their trouble started. As you say, their manager screwed them by stealing the advances. They were at a different label for a couple of years before Pete Ham's suicide I recall.

Alternatively Pete could have replaced Paul in the Beatles.

Badfinger is a weird band to me.  I feel guilty that I dont like them more than I do.  I dig a good bit of their stuff I guess and have a few albums, but they always came across as kind of a sloppy band to me and one that could just never capture my full attention.
