Post by: starofwonder on October 25, 2014, 11:05:28 PM
Have I got the term right....  ?

singing  over  the  original  singing  track .... !

I m  sure  Paul  does  it  on  ... Things  we  said  today ...

and  its  prob  used  all over the  Beatles  recording  career....

A little bit of  studio  trickery ... it  makes  the  voice  track  richer and  more  powerful .

You've got it right.  And The Beatles started doing that early on.

In Slow Down, John sings "But now you don't care a dime for me" on one track and "But now you've got a boyfriend down the street" on the other...

The song "A Hard Day's Night" is another example of double-tracking, among many.

In the later years, John also recorded two different vocals in "Revolution" doing deliberate "mistakes".
