I was considering buying the Blue Album CD just for the version of "A Day In the Life" with a clean start and no inner groove. But I was able to purchase the MP3 online. Was this song on a 45, and did it have the clean start?
I also picked up "Back In the USSR". You get to hear more of the jet engine sound at the end without it merging into "Dear Prudence". This makes me wonder if there is a version of "Dear Prudence" without the jet engine sound at the beginning.

The only version of Dear Prudence without the bit of jet engine sound at the beginning I've heard was John's acoustic Esher demo.

No jet engine sound in the beginning but a helicopter sound part way through in this version...
