I think Paul's next U. S. tour later this year could slightly bomb because the original Beatles fans in the 60's are a whole lot older while today's young people aren't too interested these days in McCartney the music legend & former Beatle sadly in this age of Nelly & Ashlee Simpson. BTW, I think the Stones are in the same situation as well.

Right now on UK radio they're advertising a concert with (wait for it) David Cassidy, Bay City Rollers and The Osmunds. And the buggers sold out.
I think Paul will be Ok (he went down a storm at Glastonbury)

I'm surprised the Osmonds, David Cassidy & the Bay City Rollers won't be touring in the U. S. since the females in my age group who grew up in the 70's with them on their walls & such along with generations of fans wold probably sellout here. I hope Paul does sellout lots of shows during his next U. S. tour even though I have to admit it's probably not going to be as easy this time around personally speaking.

Hey what about all the young'uns on this board huh? Do we mean nothing?
-
Damn right you do.

Yes. Most young people of today are more into Justin Timberlake than Donny Osmond & Paul.
-
I doubt he'll have any worries. Macca has still the magnetism to pull in the crowd.

I think it's mostly 50/50 for Paul when it comes to his next U. S. tour being as popular as his last four.
-
You could be right about being as equally popular. You could be wrong....I doubt it will bomb though.
-
i would be very surprised as well if that was to happen .. but like you said Macca has the magnetism to pull in the crowd.. but you never know eh !
-
I really dont think Paul will have any problems selling tickets for his next tour. It may well be his last tour and thats how i'm going to approach it. My only problem is deciding if to take my kids or not. I probably will.
-
I always think Paul will tour as long as he can hold out.

I think tickets will sellout faster than usual if Paul announces during his Super Bowl halftime show that this will be his last U. S. tour. BTW, I think most fans are approaching it as possibly his last anyway.
-
Yes.
-
^ haha, couldn't agree more!
-
I would consider it a POSITIVE thing that most young people today are not interested in Donny Osmond.
He's more talented than Justin Timberlake ever could be as an artist & performer by comparison.
-
But he still sucks.
-
LOL Mairi....What a grin he's got though....Too think the ladies all drooled at one time. lol
-
I think Donny's Ok. He just does his thing-never tries to be anyone but himself.
His agent once suggested that he invent a drug problem to make himself more hip and he refused.
Music sucks tho' (of course)

I think One Bad Apple, Down By The Lazy River & Yo Yo by the Osmond. Bros. are masterpieces of teen popdom & are much better than anything by the Backstreet Boys & N'Sync. Donny looks like a John Lennon & Bob Dylan these days compared with the current crop of teen idol crap but he's an average singer & great performer who's still around.

Yeah, Donny aint bad, plus I had a thing for Marie for awhile. I was just going to mention 'Down By The Lazy River' because I still have the 45, but Wayne beat me to it.

Justin Timberlake SUXX!!! He's just an untalented ugly guy for me, whos fame is just manufactured. I don't want to hurt JT fans, (I doubt that there are any here) but what he makes, I don't call music. (It's the same with many bands and 'musicians' of the 90's-2000's)
-
I'm sure Paul's tour will be a big success, I remember when he toured in Europe in 2003, all the tickets were sold out quite soon.
-
If I am able to, I'd LOVE to go to his concert down here in Florida :)
-

I had a crush on Marie when she was on the Donny & Marie show back in the 70's but she looks like a 700 Club member these days so to speak.
-
Damn right you do.
lol :D

I give Paul's next U. S. tour later this year about a 50/50 chance of selling out this time around because in this age of Nelly & Ashlee Simpson I don't think young people of today are too interested in this former Beatle & music legend.
-
only time will tell i guess wayne ..lets hope he does well with his U.S tour...:)
-
I know people who weren't huge Beatles fans but went to his concert anywyas because he's a legend.
You shouldn't make assumptions about the youth of today based on just a few artists. There are some great singers/bands out today such as Oasis, Green Day, No Doubt, Avril Lavigne, and more.
-
Coldplay should be up there as well.. they have writen some blinding songs over the last couple of years :)
-
Yeah, but he (Chris Martin) said they were like the Beatles in America.... erm.
no.
:)
-
Good point... MTV doesn't show the music tastes of most teens today, they think they can decide what's cool but they're WRONG!
I hate MTV. MuchMusic (Fuse to the rest of you guys) plays a better variety of videos anyways.
-
yeah, I agree..MTV..down with the regime!
-
Yeah, but he (Chris Martin) said they were like the Beatles in America.... erm.
no.
:)
Chris Martin should shut up! >:(
-
That comment was just about as stupid as Dirks comments lol :)
-
Each to their own Lennus!...He should not dare to compare himself with Beatles..That's just plain arrogance!
-
Coldplay ain't pants though. lol
-
no your right m8 .. there not pants.. but they dont even come close to the Beatles.. someone get me a bucket of ice cold water so i can chuck it over him.. the man needs to WAKE UP !
-
lol i didnt mean your comment Apps hahaha .. i was refering to chris martins comment lol :)
-
Had me spitting for a sec. lol

I think the youth of today don't want to know Paul or listen to his music asa member of the Beatles, his band Wings & as a solo artist period in this age of Avril Lavigne which is why I have my doubts even more so than during the 80's or 90's.
-
*sigh* I just said that they do.
-
i like coldplay quite a bit
i have both their albums and they do remind me of radiohead and travis.
as for oasis, they better get their sh*t together-soon.
-
I don't think Paul has to worry. I'm sure he'll be sold out in minutes. I know I'm going! Bob Dylan is coming here soon for like 5 shows. I don't think he's worried either.
-
yeah your right lemmon... well Oasis have a album coming out round about may time so ive heard .. and if the album is not up to scratch with the likes of morning glory and DM then i think it will be game over for Oasis !
-

The main thing is that he is playing more Beatle tunes than he's ever done since the band split...The chance to see just that is enough of a draw in itself. Never until the last World tour had he performed those songs. It was a great show and an opportunity to see a REAL music legend.
-
Is this a joke? Do you honestly believe that the tour dates won't sell out in minutes? Come on...
-
People will always turn out in droves to see Paul. I don't know what the seeds of doubt are, and I also don't think that this will be his last tour. Once you've performed that long, you can't get it out of your blood, and no matter how old, withered, feeble, etc., he may become (and lets hope it doesn't get to that), he will always have an audience. Does anyone think Sinatra toured into his late '70s because he needed to? People, myself included, paid out small fortunes just to breathe the same air as him, its the same thing with Macca. The '60s generation will always be there to relive Beatlemania and their youth as well as the fact that his music has been the soundtrack to their lives for 40+ years, and they are bringing their kids, and now grandkids who are discovering a whole new universe beyond the mall rat of the week. Look at all of the young posters here. Amen.

Paul had the most successful tour in the world in 2002. Now you think he'll bomb just two years later? You're out of your mind.
