GAWD, listen to that busy basswork on Something and that AWESOME optimistic sounding basswork on Here Comes The Sun. I just realized how awesome the latter sounds.
Paul did a great job on these two songs. Seriously.
And go Harrison!
-
Paul does great bass work in Dear Prudence, and Me and My Monkey, and Hello Goodbye too
-
I've never known Paul to do shotty basswork. Seriously, its all pretty good, its just that some are great.
-
yeah, very underated.
-
I like very much the bass in Penny Lane, Paperback writer and I saw her standing there
-
Paul is one of the greatest bassist of all time with few equals even though he's underrated by critics next to one of his 60's contemporaries the late, great John Enwhistle.
-
yeah, i must admit it sounds awesome
-
If you want some MEAN bass lines, check out "I, Me, Mine" from Let It Be - The Film..very VIOLENT bass lines from his VIOLIN bass..

I love the bass in Something.
-
Love all those mentioned also gotta say..
Savoy Truffle,
I Want You,
Dig A Pony
Awww shucks!!! lol...They just all great..Abbey Rd. taught me so much when I had to learn from Sun King thru to The End. And the classic Come Together lick, well...First I blagged it, now I got it (mostly) nailed!! lol He's a tone meister!!!!
-
I play Come Together main riff by starting at the 10th fret on E...and doing it there.
where abouts do you play it Apps? It sounds right to me.
-
I'm sure it would be nice as tone goes Indy. I've never checked any official notation on this but I launch from D (5th fret) on the A string. That way I get a nice slide up to the F on the G string.
Your way sounds tidier though and keeps the fingers in the same place.
Horses for courses. Whatever feels comfortable. ;)
-
Speaking of tones..,The 13th fret action on Paperback Writer is throbtastic!!! lol. Specially on a Rickenbacker. He never grooves those verses the same....LOVE IT! :)

I gotta agree with that list. I like the bass on Paperback Writer and Michelle.
