What defines the Beatles of the early 60's during the height of Beatlemaina to me is their first appearance on Ed Sullivan, A Hard Day's Night & the Shea Stadium concert documentary.
-
A Hard Day's Night, forever.
Encapsulates the whole giddy excitement of their blossoming, including the live performance hysteria.
-
There music of corse.

The twist and shout jump, for really early stuff. all the black and white grainy pictures, culminating in AHD'sN. When Help came out, it was as though they needed to be in colour, but before that they had to be black and white; a colour photo from that time always seems a little odd for me. (apart from the lovely stripey swimsuits - that was a HOT look). ;)

The Hard Day's Night "chord" - deceptively complex, a shape of things to come

She Loves You and the matching suits. Can't forget the screaming girls either.
-
When someone says "The Beatles", I automatically picture them in the early 60's. So, like the matching suits, the mop tops, the beatle boots. The simple, but good music.
Just the pure craziness of Beatlemania!

Yup me too. To me that is who The Beatles are. The Beatles at their best! (IMO). I love their earlier music, their style, sound Beatlemania.
-
Their style, their Mop Tops no doubt, (haha), and their music of course.
-
Moptops, a harmonica, random screaming, and the best harmonies.
