Title: Propagandhi
Post by: andersonCouncill on Nov 26, 2006, 08:25 PM
Just got into this band last night. Downloaded 15 songs (I paid, don't worry) by them.

They were signed onto Fat Wreck Chords, which is owned by Fat Mike of NoFX, however, they are a far cry from NoFX's pop-punk goofiness, instead they are inspired by hardcore bands such as The Dead Kennedys, The Circle Jerks, and The Germs, and well they aren't afraid to be melodic, the music, as most hardcore is, is highly derivitive, with the message of the lyrics (a socialist liberal, pro-gay, pro-feminism, pro-racial unity, type) coming in first.

Canadian punk!

Great band, I especially love their second album (Less Talk More Rock). And I interviewed their bass player last year.

Downside is that they're getting a bit too radical lately (yes, even for my taste)... They're always talking about fascism this and fascism that, but the way they are totally intollerant of different opinions is getting pretty fascist as well.

Another downside is that they had to include this line on their last album:

I do have to agree. I quite liked Less Talk, More Rock myself.

What was the interview like?
