Title: Female Artist Fans?
Post by: allflowerz on March 20, 2007, 08:51:45 PM
I've been into a female indie artist named Shannon Moore. I felt there was a total lack of talented females in the music scene til myfriend from work(umgd) told me to check out www.myspace.com/shannonmooremusic    Was truthfully impressed with the whole vibe of her music.  She strokes realities from everyday life and make music to relate to.  Her debut album Evaporate just got released.  Anyways give it a listen if your lookin for a good new female artist.

I've been listening to France Gall a lot lately. Really good stuff. 60's Pop at it's best.

I'm not a huge fan of female artists. Don't know why. I do like Bjork very much. And Polly Harvey. And of course, the great Patti Smith.

Ah Patti Smith! That wonderful song Frederic. I love Liz Frasier of the late and great This Mortal Coil and Cocteau Twins.

My feelings too. Rock is so much a sex and drugs thing and women's attitudes to these generally aren't the same as ours. Though I do think Alanis Morrissets Little Jagged Pill is superb.
I've said this before (in half jest) that woman just can't look as cool as guys with an electric guitar.(except Chrissie Hindes) It's the penis thing.

Alanis was promising, I thought. And yes, women and guitars? Chrissie Hinds, and Bonnie Rait are the only women that look kind of natural with a guitar.

and every guy knows that a guitar increases your chances of getting laid tenfold. Women adore men who perform, regardless of their looks. Men don't give a damn - rock star or cleaner, it don't matter. No amount of talent makes Mama Cass attractive.
It's an evolution thing, the human version of the peacock's tail.
