Sorry, I forgot to include that. I have edited your vote.
I think Ringo sounds the best on With A Little Help From My Friends, the song seems to suit his voice the best and he has a chance to show what he's worth as a singer.
-
Ringo has personality all over his voice. I don't care what he sings. It just shouts, "Ringo!"
-
ringo's voice is all his own.
not to be compared to the other beatles.
even today, his voice sounds like back in the day.
i would love for him to sing octopus's garden in concert .
even though i voted for with a little help, i think octopuss is my favorite beatle ringo song.
:)
-
He does have a very interesting voice. Unique for sure. I vote for...With a Little Help From My Friends. That song just suits him. I do really love when he sings Boys though. I love how he rocks out on that one.
-
I'm with 'I Wanna Be Your Man' - though 'Boys' rocks just as well. He does the ballads nicely, but I like the rockers.
:)
-
Goodnight. I am planning on singing that to my children as their lullaby. If I could only get those deep low notes down.... ahh well I have about 5-10 years
-
I like Matchbox!
-
"Don't Pass Me By " gets my vote i really like his droll delivery . " With A little Help From My Friends " is a close second though . It's funny this song as been coverd by a number of good singers and none of them seem to capture what Ringo did with the song , his is the definitive version .
-
"With a Little Help From My Friends." But I love the full throttle crash-and-burn take of "Boys" on Live At The Hollywood Bowl, and there's a great version of "I Wanna Be Your Man" on Complete BBC as well.
-
A little off topic but as Ringo duetted with a female singer ?
-
no offence to anyone, but i don't much like ringo's vocals, but if i had to choose, it would be octopus's garden
-
His voice is very unique. I think it only work for certain types of songs.
-
Boys. I Wanna Be Your Man a close second.
He does the ballads nicely, but I like the rockers.
So do I, Klang
-
i say goodnight,
beautiful vocal performence
they picked a good song for him to sing.
And ringos voice still does sound like back in the day

With a Little Help From My Friends
-
YS or WALHFMF
-
I Wann Be Your Man and Liverpool 8.
-
Yellow Submarine maybe?
-
With A Little Help From My Friends, although his voice on Honey Don't really rocks.
-
To be honest, I like all of these songs, and I love the way Ringo sings in genreal, so I can't pick one... yet (lol)
But let me just agree with something that DaveRam said about With a Little Help from My Friends:
It's funny this song as been coverd by a number of good singers and none of them seem to capture what Ringo did with the song , his is the definitive version .
I agree very much-ly indeed (clap)
-
I cried buckets when I heard him sing Photograph at Concert for George. Just amazing! I thought his voice had strengthened and grown in confidence beyond measure.
Will have to go away and think about the Beatle ones, though. I do like Boys (the song!!) and I agree about the cover versions. Somehow no-one else can do it like Ringo!
-
Octopus's Garden.
this is the only Ringo on vocal song i like.
-
I went for Act Naturally but he does a good job on Boys i reckon. Nice rocking voice there
And i agree Jane, he sounds very good on Liverpool 8
-
Ringo's voice has definately gotten better as he's aged. From the Beatles days I like I Wanna Be Your Man
-
I Wanna Be Your Man, I Wanna Be Your Man, I Wanna Be Your Man, I Wanna Be Your Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan... UHH NO I'M NOT, but I like the way he'd sang that song. better than Mick Jagger's annoying vocals on his I mean The Stones version at least ;D
-
Photograph i think is the best! next to that is I `m The Greatest
-
On what Beatles song do you think that Ringo's voice sounds the best?
good night...
-
On what Beatles song do you think that Ringo's voice sounds the best?good night...
Is that an answer or a wish? ;) :P
-
I always like Ringo's singing voice I'd say Octopus's Garden
-
Not a bad one on the list, really. I like the animation of "Boys"--he could rock-n-roll with the best of the singing drummers.
"What Goes On": I like the harmonies with John (?)--too bad they didn't do more of this.
The comment on "Help from my Friends" is dead on. Joe Cocker's version is great but a little over-emotive. Ringo seems to hit just the right tone (same with "Yellow Submarine"--who else could sing that song with the faux naif pov?)
"Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden" both have an idiosyncrasy to them that make them Ringo songs not just "the drummer's obligatory" songs.
-
I love Ringo's singing on "Friends" and others, but let's face it, he was no vocalist. That's why I always say if you're going to cover the Beatles, you should make it a Ringo song, because there's no other way to improve on it.
-
'what goes on' and 'i wanna be your man' (:
-
With a little help from my friends is almost perfect to me, but I like too much his performance in Honey don't, a little out of key in some points but great.
-
I suppose that I like his performance in Octopus's Garden the best. I like Ringo's voice.
-
It's not a 'Beatle' song, but in my opinion "In A Heartbeat".
He sounds the best on this one. For the longest time, I didn't even know it was a Ringo song because I just hear it on a tape in the car!
But that's my opinion.
Now strictly on just Beatle songs...I might have to say "Good Night". I think the song is perfect for a voice like his!
-
I think BOYS is not only Ringo's best vocal performance, I think it's one of the best ROCK vocal performances ever. There's a certain rawness, energy and tension in his voice that is just great.
-
I think I Wanna Be Your Man had a great gusto to it. Somebody once said, on here I think, That Ringo's voice has a rockabilly quality too it. How right they are.
-
Love Don't Last Long is really cool and Beaucoups of Blues is good too. From The Beatles days: Good Night.
-
I think he definitely sounds best on "Boys".
-
His early Beatles vocals are too underrated. "Act Naturally" really does it for me. Possibly the best off-key singing ever!
-
I have to agree that "Boys" is what I consider Ringo's best vocal. It's strong, and in places it sounds genuinely great! Very entertaining. I love their version of this song.
