if you knew that you were going to die soon, and you could only hear one more song by the beatles, what song would you choose. i would probably choose across the universe. what would you choose?
-
A second is very short. Based on that cirtieria alone I would have to choose "Her Majesty" so I could hear the most of a song percentage-wise.
-
Either All My Loving or Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End/Her Majesty.
-
ok let me change the question.there if you knew you were going to die soon
-
Ouch. it's a 4-way tie between Across The Universe, A Day In The Life, Strawberry Fields and In My Life...
-
Let It Be.
-
All You Need Is Love.
-

I was just being silly. I would listen to In My Life and think about the wonderful people that have made my whole life whole.
-
Within You or Without You...but dying isn't something I like to think about...but that is what I would choose.
-
i don't like thinking of death either but i was just wondering
-
I Saw Her Standing There is my favorite Beatle song, but under the circumstances, I might go with Something. Since it's a slow song and I really love that song.
-
Hey Jude because it was the first song I really liked
-
In My Life.
-
I would probably listen to For No One or The Long and Winding Road :-/
-
Imagine (if we inculde solo)
-
What's their longest song? I'd choose that one, for a bit more time :)
-
Imagine (if we inculde solo)
sure why not that song is great
-

longest in revolution 9 i believe.
-

Revolution 9. But I don't count that as a song, and I don't want you scaring yourself, then dying. So I Want You (She's So Heavy) comes in second.
-
Yea Revolution 9 might not be a good death bed song... I Want You (She's So Heavy) is a kind of hypnotic song, so that might be a better choice.
-
yeah revolution 9 is not really a song, it is just a bunch of people talking. i hate that song or what ever it is
-
If we include solo songs then Imagine for me.
-
AHHH HARD... One of those: Good Night, The Inner Light, Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da(So happy song, I don't want sad song.)
-
Within You Without You
-
What's their longest song? I'd choose that one, for a bit more time :)
For that matter, one could choose to hear the run out groove on Sgt Pepper..........it goes on forever!
"Never could be any other way...."never could be any other way...."never could be any other way...."never could be any other way...."never could be any other way..............."
;)
-
one could also listen to Paul's End of the End... will give one some comfort....
Or Lucy in the Sky... one will be in anticipation to meet the girl....

What kind of girl are you going to meet when dying???
-

The nurse!
-
Freakchic9, you are great! The nurse with diamonds...!
-
Freakchic9, you are great! The nurse with diamonds...!
Well, the nurse could be all fashionable, walking around with her diamonds and such. :)
-
^ Excellent! ;D ;D ;D
-
what nurse are you talking about?
-
I havent met her yet. but I believe its Nurse Lucy... the one with the diamonds ;)
-
nurse lucy? from where i am so confused
-
I will pay someone to find me Nurse Lucy with the diamonds. :D
-
Revolution #9 so that the dying part wouldnt feel so bad. After a minute of this song, i'd try to kill myself anyways.
-
hard to answer...
A Day in the Life comes to mind first.
more later...
-
How about Nurse Rached?
-
How about Nurse Rached?
Doesn't count.
-
what is with the nurses. do you mean like the nurses in the movie across the universe?
-
ok just forget it lets just get back to the topic of this thread.
-
I think Tomorrow Never Knows, Let it Be, Across the Universe or Within You Without You would all be suitably serious for my final sendoff into the Spirit World. At least in thinking about death in the abstract. But the reality will probably be something more like What Goes On . . . slowly fading out and and winding down like a record player running out of juice.
-
Nurses! LOL! ;D Nice continuation!
What about A Long And Winding Road?
-
Maybe I'm Amazed. The I could think of my family :'(
-
Wow... nurses, nurses everywhere! ;D
Maybe I'll go for.... the last song on Ringo's Liverpool 8 album (the one called R U Ready).
It goes "Are you ready to cross over, are you ready to let go? To face the final curtain, in the land of I Don't Know..."
And there's the bit that goes "someone's there to catch you when you're ready to let go"
So... I'd feel reassured and reasonably cheerful :)
But... I'm in no hurry ;D
-
Great, Octie! ;D
-
I want you, Hey Jude, Come Together, While My Guitar Gently Weeps are all long
-
i would listen to Let it be from the 1 album! 8)
-
im not sure i would want to listen to a long song, because then i would have time to think about what was about to happen. i would want to listen to whatever my favorite song was, maybe, and as that changes about once a week, i cant write a definite answer.
or i might want to listen to a song that makes me happy, like Good Day Sunshine, cause if you had time for one more emotion, dont you think it should be a good one?
-
been a while since somebody replied to this thread
-
wow, looks like i looked at this situation a bit different than everybody else......
-
I found Nurse Lucy, and she doesn't wear a lot of diamonds to work.
-
I think I'd pick I'll Follow The Sun, Here Comes The Sun or maybe I'll Be On My Way (the version from Live at the BBC with the Beatles singing).
If we include solo songs it could be Macca's "End Of The End", George's "All Things Must Pass" or Maybe Ringo's "Fading In Fading Out" or "R U Ready?".
Just out of curiosity... would anyone pick a hard rocker like Helter Skelter? it would be interesting if "I've Got Blisters On My Fingers!" are the last words you hear LOL
-

It's better than - turn round and get on your knees!
-
---I'll Be On My Way (the version from Live at the BBC with the Beatles singing).
i would think so. that is the only excisting version by the beatles
-
Something
-
Dear Prudence
-
Probably Dear Prudence, it just reminds me of anything and everything, don't know why ;D
-
Hey Jude. I don't care what people say, I think that it's the most beautiful song ever. I definately identify with it and I need more Jude in my life. Probably if I knew I was going to die soon, I'd still be worrying about my friends!
-
i didn't know at first.. then somebody said All You Need is Love and i completely agree. that's the song.
-
Raquelle, I LOVE the picture in your siggy.
I think I might've changed my song. I think I changed it to We Can Work It Out. I just don't know...
-
She Said...I know what its like to be dead
