I should have posted this before yesterday, as I went out and upgraded my AT DR 2000 to an EV N/D 767a.

What mic do you guys use on stage? Your personal one, or do you just use the house mic wherever you're playing (SM 58 most likely)?

Thanks!
I love John,
I love Paul,
And George and Ringo,
I love them all!

I have two SM 58's that are at least thirty years old. Stored in my Garage during many Chicago winters... pulled them out when I joined a band in 2005 and they're still ticking. They're very durable mics.

Sm58 all the way. Studio is a different matter. ;)

I used to use a SM58, but lately I'm preferring a Sennheiser EV something.

Our crew uses:
Ed and Jeff - Beta 58
Roger - Beta 87A
Jamie - Beta 57 (he's the drummer so this helps with bleedover a little better than the 58)
Me - SM57 (just a few harmonies and also I have bleedover control)
Please check out Ed Turner and Number 9 on Youtube and let us know what you think.  We perform primarily in the southeastern United States for charity events and pride ourselves in performing Beatles songs that they themselves never performed live.  We wo

I switched to in-ear monitor system lately. Man, I can now talk the next day!

Yes, I switched to them too. No more yelling into the mic because can't hear otherwise - much better vocals I believe, and like you say, the voice is spared!

I'm liking my E/V nd767a. Slowly getting used to swallowing it for the soft passages.

Hi there, I was wondering what monitors do you use in your studio? are you satisfied or are there any cons? and what do you think, which option is better? active or passive monitors? i would like your personal experience so this thread could be used as a guide for others to see what people who actually own these or that monitors actually think of them; thank you for your cooperation

Best value for money monitors in the studio imo are the Alesis Mark 1 monitors-Passive. Seem to sound good with at least the few amps I have run them with and I refer them to the Rogers monitors we also use.
