Those are some very good points that maywitch has made, especially regarding Allen Klein. I think a lot of people forget about that whole messy business when discussing the break-up.
I am posting on an internet forum, therefore my opinion is fact.

Yet if it had been the other around, you better believe we'd be hearing to this day how "Paul STOLE" John's first listed credit from him.  Then there is the song "Yesterday" - the other Beatles vetoed the idea of it even being released as a single in the UK(in the US they had no control, Capitol released whatever they wanted).  Again Paul didn't throw a hissy fit about how they were holding him back, etc, etc.  He just got on with it.  Paul got where he was through not just talent, but hard work and persistence.  No one "handed" him anything and he certainly didn't have a manager with a crush on him to help.

Are you sure about that (I know it says so on Wiki but.....) ? I have read a quote from McCartney (don't know where or when) where he expresses dismay that Yesterday was released as a single in the US. He said they were a rock band and always intended their singles to be fast paced.
Ironical that a thread that started as an anti Paul v John has ended up with most of you doing exactly that.

Yeah... that was not my intent when I started this thread.

My point is how people feel the need to compare them in the first place. (And plus, you don't think Yoko's backing vocals on Happy Xmas are equally annoying?)

Sometimes I wish "Winter Rose/Love Awake" would count as a Christmas song for Paul. The WR segment has this rather melancholy, lonely feel, but it also sounds a bit other-worldly. Kinda reminds me of the early cold days of winter (well, duh), and it's beautiful.
